The Suite had the TV removed because it was broken. The location of the Suite was low by the Septic tanks and smelled like a sewer. After telling us they were full and completely booked, I asked for compensation. The desk clerk called the manager and miraculously a spare room was available for the night and they would relocate us to the spare room for one night and then move us to a different suite whose occupants were checking out the next day. When we moved to our second room (non suite) and went to shower, the shower handle was missing and the electric hot water did not work either. As we had unpacked and undressed, we had to dress again and go to front desk (no phones) to inform them of the shower problem. It was now past midnight and no engineer was available. After two days of no showering, I was looking forward to a shower before bed, but I thought this was not to be. Miraculously my partner tried, for the 15th time, to turn on the hot water and shower and it worked! The next day we were relocated to a Sea View Suite Cottage 1. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. This Suite was fantastic, clean, everything worked and had a “modern” shower with hand wand. The whole day was great, with personal service poolside for 22 people for a birthday party. The service, food and hospitality was excellent! Despite the initial fiasco, the family birthday event was terrific. We had the family Cottage for the other 8 people staying and had 12 day pass guests. Chema’s By The Sea rose to the occasion and we will return.

Here’s a more natural and balanced version that keeps your honest feedback without sounding overly harsh. Pros: * Complimentary boat transfer * Breakfast was okay * Friendly and accommodating staff * Comfortable bed and pillows * Lots of trees and birds, with the sound of crickets at night making you feel surrounded by nature 🌿 Cons: * No hot shower — in fact, there was no shower at all. We had to bathe using cold water, a bucket, and a water dipper. * The beach was quite small, and there were some plastic bottles scattered around when we arrived. We checked in at around 2 PM, so I expected the area to have been cleaned before guests arrived. * The infrastructure looked a bit run-down and could use better maintenance. We paid almost ₱12,000 per night for three people, so I expected a little more in terms of facilities and upkeep given the price. While the natural surroundings were lovely, the overall experience didn’t quite meet my expectations.

The staff were very accommodating and courteous. However, the overall maintenance of the resort needs significant improvement. The shoreline was littered with fallen leaves and garbage, and the amenities were not well-maintained. In our room, the shower had very weak water pressure, so we had to use the common CR instead. Unfortunately, when I switched on the light, it suddenly sparked, and I almost got electrocuted. This is a serious electrical safety concern that requires immediate attention. The pool also appeared dirty and needed proper cleaning. We hope management will take these concerns seriously and improve the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of the facilities to provide guests with a more comfortable and enjoyable experience. What a big difference from our visit in 2022 when I came here with my family. We had a good experience back then, which was why I confidently recommended this place to my friends. Unfortunately, our recent experience was disappointing, especially regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and safety. I hope management can bring back the quality and standards that made us want to return and recommend this place to others.
