    I had a lovely stay at Sharon Inn. My room was on the top floor and had a balcony with great views, very quiet and comfortable. Everything worked fine except for the WiFi, but I guess that's Sri Lanka in general. The owner was kind and accommodating, the last day he even sang and played the guitar for me, one of my favourite songs from the Beatles, and he has a lovely voice. Definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for some peace, away from the hectic touristy area of town. They also have a restaurant serving local dishes

    We got blinded by the 9.1 rating which I have no idea how it got.... The room was not clean and seemed very dated. We had an AC but no remote for it, the bathroom smelled of mold and the sheets had stains. We were close to leaving on the first night but decided to stay since we only had two nights here. The owner was friendly when we checked in but after we didn't get the breakfast or dinner it seemed like he lost interest in us. There is a school nearby that was doing morning workouts at 7am and blasting music which served as a wake-up call at that time both days we were there. I can't complain about the location, it's fine. Slightly outside of the chaotic center but walkable, though it is up a pretty steep hill so if you have any mobility issues definitely use tuk-tuks.

    The check-in process was unnecessarily complicated and unwelcoming. Despite arriving at a reasonable evening hour, we had to wait nearly 30 minutes for a room, which was still not ready. The overall atmosphere of the property felt quite depressing. The room lacked even basic amenities—there were no toiletries, towels, or drinking water provided. While we initially tried to adjust, the experience worsened due to the owner’s rude and hostile behavior, which made us feel distinctly unwelcome. Additionally, the Wi-Fi did not work, and there was no lift in the building. Accessing something as simple as drinking water required climbing three flights of stairs. The only positive aspect was that the room itself was clean and spacious. However, everything else was disappointing. The property is also located in an interior area, far from the main road and major attractions. Overall, we would not recommend this place.

    Its is old hotel bathroom was non functional there are water everywhere and shower was completly broken
