Truman guesthouse

I had a wonderful experience staying here. The location is absolutely perfect-super convenient and close to everything you need, making it incredibly easy to explore the area. As a solo traveler, I also really appreciated how comfortable the capsule bunk bed was. It gave me the perfect amount of privacy and a great night's sleep after a long day of walking around. The overall vibe was very welcoming and cozy. I would definitely recommend Truman guesthouse to anyone looking for a seamless, comfortable, and budget-friendly stay.

It's so hard to evaluate this hotel. The staffs are wonderful and super helpful! The bed is comfy and clean enough. But the building itself is old, so the bathrooms are horrific. It's small, always wet and not hygienic. Since Laos it's hot, showering everyday in that bathroom is torturing. The rooms are located on the 2nd floor. On the first floor, there is a cafe restaurant. The toilets on the 1st floor are clean and spacious but the sofas are so old and dirty. In my opinion, the main problem is the bathrooms. Everything else is doable with this price. Good location too.

Great spot in Luang Prabang! It’s close to everything and there’s a supermarket literally right outside which is super handy. Also, a big shoutout to the manager jerry! He was really kind and helpful, went out of his way to assist me with everything even though I was only there for two nights. That kind of hospitality genuinely makes a difference. And oh, there’s a resident kitten and that alone is worth 5 stars.

The main hallway looks very unpleasant, since it looks rundown and two very small sinks are exposed right there. They're reminiscent of the cage apartments in Hong Kong. What's even worse is the bathroom situation, since they're situated in an icky and cramped corner. I was reluctant to use the toilet and shower, to the point that I had even considered cutting my stay short and moving to another hostel instead. The bathroom was really tiny, with no separate shower area and you won't even be able to take two steps inside. I was very uncomfortable using them and it didn't help that there were only two cubicles for ALL occupants on the floor. The lock is BROKEN for the female dorm, so I felt uneasy and unsafe with my belongings and personal safety. The room itself was okay, but there was little to no sunlight source. Absolutely different from what was advertised online. What also bothered me was that the wooden floor is very thin and makes a creaking sound easily with each footstep. The individual pods/beds are decent, with all the basics covered. There was also a mini shelf for storage and more importantly, privacy curtains! The only reason I continued staying here despite the abysmal condition of the facilities was Jessie, the extremely awesome and friendly staff/receptionist/cook. Her service was exceptional. She truly went above and beyond, as she helped me arrange a tour and cooked a very delicious rice meal for me. Her presence was the only thing that made my experience here bearable.
