Great stay with an urgent booking. The room was a bit chilly but it was fine with a heat mat. The steam bath was an unexpected delight. The owner was hardly sharing the smile but the facilities were clean comparing the price. You may also find Korean pork restaurants near by. Value for money.

Located a stone's throw from the train station and bus terminal. You'll need to get a bus or taxi to the park but with what you save here, that will be no problem. Taebaek is a small town and you can walk just about anywhere in it from here.
The hotel itself is old but fairly well kept. Common areas like the hall and stairwell aren't climate controlled (I put on a jacket to use the microwave) but my room was warm and very clean. I slept in a hanok style room and the pallet was surprisingly comfortable, although I am a soldier so YMMV.
My only complaint was that the walls are a bit thin. Still, people were quiet.
