This room has a private bathroom but need to climb up the stairs. Room size is quite big, just note that you will be sleeping on a hospital bed type.

This room has only toilet and no bathrooms. Choose universal room if u want your private bathroom. Breakfast was quite good.

I booked this place because I had one more night to burn in Hokkaido before heading back and I wanted to go to the Upopoy Ainu museum. For that purpose, it was a decent place at a decent price, with helpful staff. Judging purely on the merits of the hotel, its a bit more iffy. Though its called a resort and seems to be built with that purpose, the facilities seem just a bit run down. I frequently encountered large, empty rooms serving no purpose, adding to a creepy, decrepit feeling. My biggest complaint with it is that it was not a restful place to sleep. At night, there were many loud guests in the hallways and in the parking lot, disturbing my peaceful rest. In the morning, there was loud knocking in a nearby room, as well as yelling and stomping down the hallway just shortly after 7 AM. I tried to go back to sleep, but the room has no way to block out the morning sun, and the cleaning crew had already begun running their vacuums. I don’t mean to come off harshly, as the staff was helpful when I needed them, however the one and only thing I wanted out of this place was a restful sleep and I didn’t get that here. As a side note, if you do visit Shiraoi, make a point to stop by SURYA curry for a delicious Nepalese meal at a great price.
