    great talking distance to Sapporo shopping highlights such as mega don quijote, tanukikoji, odaiba stn limited facility friendly receptionist that allows borrowing of coffee equipment and boardgames. tips stay 2 nights and more they offer some nice treats. drawback: no laundry in hotel, 15-20minutes walk to nearest coin laundry (don't forget to bring 100yen coins)

    Firstly, this is more like an Airbnb or a 2-star hotel at best. Seeing it marked as a 4-star property is totally ridiculous and we were utterly disappointed since we booked based on the high reviews. But also note that number of reviews are less compared to typical hotel as this is a new set-up and that’s why review maybe misleading. Upon check-in, they present a policy saying you have to clear out your own garbage, and there is no staff on the premises—they even leave the desk empty by 11 PM. They use "eco-friendly" as an excuse not to provide basic services, and our room had no windows at all. While some of this is buried in the long fine print, they should just call themselves an Airbnb so families traveling with kids don't get scammed. The staff is nice and friendly for sure, but that was the same for our other stays in Japan as well. The place is a bit quirky, so you could call it an above-average Airbnb, but we will never consider this property again. I guess at some price point it could make sense. We also stayed at the Sapporo Grand on this same trip, so as a guide: if the price here is much below 40-50% of what you'd pay at the Sapporo Grand, then maybe it's okay. Otherwise, it’s definitely not worth it. For us it was priced as same level and unfortunately we used price and reviews as an indicator to select this place and it was a mistake.
