The property is very clean and well maintained.

The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was also neat. Only thing is it's 4 km away from town. But you can get food nearby (200metres)

The property offered excellent value for money.

As the proverb goes, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Unfortunately, that perfectly describes our experience with Hotel Hollywood, Sultan Bathery. On our way back from Ooty with my wife, we booked this hotel through Agoda at 9:39 pm and reached around 10:00 pm. The property looked decent from the outside, but what awaited us inside was the worst hotel experience we’ve had so far. At the reception, an elderly man behaved in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner. He claimed that he had not received any confirmation mail from Agoda and therefore could not allow us to stay. His behavior was insulting, as though we had committed a crime simply by booking online. He even asked us to personally check their inbox. Initially, the booking confirmation mail was not visible, but after selecting the “All Inboxes” option, we found the Agoda confirmation clearly there. When confronted, he dismissed it by saying, “I just received it now.” He then demanded to see the payment receipt and even tried calling someone to verify if the money had been credited. After much delay, he finally allotted us a room, which turned out to be untidy and poorly maintained. Throughout the interaction, the receptionist was argumentative, even raising his voice at my wife while claiming, “I value my customers, but without a confirmation mail, I cannot let you stay.” Such behavior completely contradicts the basic principles of customer service and hospitality. This was a deeply disappointing experience. The management should understand that guests booking through Agoda or any other online platform deserve the same courtesy and respect as walk-in customers. Until they address this kind of unprofessional behavior, I would strongly discourage anyone from booking this hotel.
