We have stayed for 2 nights. A seperate cottage was provided and spacious. Room and bathroom were very clean.There is a swimming pool and all time accessible. They have limited food options .Food served very hot and delicious.They helped us by arranging vehicles for local sightseeing and boating.Overall experience is good and value for the money.

Superb property, very clean, spacious rooms. Small pool but well maintained. Garden area in front of rooms is also nice. Overall property is very clean & very well maintained. Slightly inside main city & main road.

I stayed at Coastal Republica in Gokarna, checking in on Monday evening (20th April) and checking out on Tuesday (21st April). We were a group of six and had booked two of the deluxe family rooms (each with a super king bed and a single bed), which were spacious enough to comfortably accommodate all of us. At first glance, the property is visually appealing and well-maintained. It’s a small boutique setup with just six rooms (4 Deluxe family rooms and 2 Quadraple rooms with 2 Queen beds eqch), surrounded by greenery, a neat lawn, and a central pool. The villa-style architecture gives it a peaceful, private feel—especially suitable for small groups like ours. The approach to the property, particularly at night, is quite isolated and dimly lit. We arrived around 8 PM, and since we were the only guests at the time, it felt slightly uncomfortable initially. However, once inside, the premises are well-lit and feel safe. Later on in the night one more group arrived and that made us feel safer. Location & Accessibility: The beach is slightly less than 1 km away but it is not walkable—you will need a vehicle. Parking near the beach is also limited, so you’ll need to spend some time finding a spot. The property itself is quite secluded, so stepping out for food or exploring nearby options isn’t convenient—you’ll need to drive everywhere. Rooms & Amenities: The rooms are large and comfortable, but several basic amenities are missing: - No television - No landline phone - Very weak mobile network - Poor Wi-Fi connectivity This makes staying connected or even contacting the caretaker inconvenient. Also, while a work desk is provided, there is no chair, making it impractical to use. Hot water is only available after 9 AM. If needed earlier, you must request the caretaker—highlighting that this is not a full-service hotel but more of a caretaker-managed property. Service: There are two caretakers—Rahul (night) and Shiva (morning)—and both were polite and helpful. However, since there is no formal reception or room service system, everything depends on their availability. Food Experience: Food quality is decent but comes with clear limitations: - Very limited menu - Some items unavailable - Starters restricted (mostly gobi-based options) - Main course (fried rice, cashew curry, dal fry) was good The biggest disappointment was the chapatis, which were ready-made rather than freshly prepared and this was not communicated in advance. There were no alternative bread options either. Additionally, once the larger group placed their order, the kitchen stopped accepting further orders. We were asked to switch dishes instead of reordering what we wanted, indicating limited kitchen capacity. Breakfast is not included in the tariff. We chose to have breakfast outside near the temple area instead of at the property given the limited options. Pool Experience (USP, but needs maintenance): The pool looks attractive and is clearly positioned as a key highlight, but it needs attention: - Several tiles at the bottom have come off (potential safety concern) - Water cleanliness is not great - A noticeable number of insects in the pool, both at night and in the morning This made the experience uncomfortable, especially for adults who were bare chest. Overall Verdict: Coastal Republica is a peaceful and visually pleasing property that works well for small groups looking to relax in a private setting. However, it falls short on connectivity, food flexibility, basic amenities, and maintenance. Its secluded location further reduces convenience. Bottom line: Good for a quiet group getaway, but not ideal if you expect standard hotel-level service and facilities.
