Not hygienic at all.

I booked two rooms at Hotel Janata, Colaba—one family room for 2 adults and 2 children, and one single room for myself. The family room was manageable, but the single room was disappointing. The TV was not working, the room was not properly cleaned, there was dust and dirt under the bed, the blanket had visible stains, and the room had an unpleasant smell. The washroom had hot water, but it was not well maintained. The customer service was also poor. When I approached the reception for assistance, the staff member was busy writing in a logbook and asked me to wait until he finished instead of helping with the issue. The building itself is very old and appears to need significant renovation and maintenance. While the location in Colaba is convenient, the overall condition of the property does not justify the price paid. My suggestion: kindly do your research before booking and consider other hotels in the area that offer better cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service for the same budget. In my opinion, this stay was not worth the money. Pros: • Good location in Colaba • Hot water available Cons: • Poor cleanliness • Stained blankets • Bad smell in the room • Non-working TV • Poorly maintained washroom • Unhelpful staff • Old building in need of renovation Overall, I would not recommend the single room and would advise travelers to look for better options nearby.

The size of the rooms were smallest .... It was just a decent stay... No safety issues but we didn't like the location needs renovation
