About this house rental

Enjoy a getaway steps from Lake Michigan's Sheridan Beach in this cozy cottage that is great for quiet comfort, family fun, a romantic getaway, or a weekend with close friends. There are many activities nearby including Washington Park Marina/Park/Zoo, Sheridan Beach, Blue Chip Casino, Lighthouse Premium Place Outlets, and downtown Michigan City restaurants, all a short walk or bike ride away. The area also has several wineries and breweries. Additionally, for those wanting to enjoy concerts, sporting events or a day trip exploring Chicago, the South Shore Line now offers a 67-minute train to Chicago from 11th Street in Michigan City, which is approximately two miles from the cottage.

The beach is just a five minute walk from the front door. We provide a beach wagon, two beach chairs, an umbrella, beach towels, a cooler, a few ice packs, and some sand toys for your enjoyment.

The serene back patio is surrounded by trees and is great for relaxing in the evenings. A grill is provided but please clean this after use.

The charming house features 1 queen bed in the primary on the main floor and two double beds in the upstairs loft. There is one full bathroom with a shower. A hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and lotion are provided for your convenience. The home has a television with a Roku for you to log in to watch your streaming services. We also have WiFi and a small selection of books to borrow for your next good read.

This beach house was a perfect fit for me, my 3 teen/adult children, and my dog. Check-in was as simple as making a phone call to the owner to let her know we had arrived a bit early, but she was very accommodating. We loved that the beach and zoo were all within walking distance from the house, and we even ventured further and walked to the lighthouse museum. Kitchen had plenty of coffee so I could spend my mornings relaxing in this comfy cottage. It was a very hot weekend, but air conditioning worked great! It was a wonderful weekend!

Very clean, felt like home! The property had plenty of items avaliable for use, more than any other place i've stayed. We explored the beach, the pier, & the zoo. My kids absolutely lovrd it also! Theres a nice back patio, we had a BBQ and enjoyed the table firepit. This will definitely be our beach stay away from home from now on!! Easy walk to the beach was my favorite! Thank you so much!!!

The cottage is adorable. It offers all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Jamie is very responsive to questions and even had a broom & dust pan delivered to the door when I asked about having something to sweep up sand.It is a short walk to the beach and a short drive for eating & shopping. My daughter and I enjoyed our stay and would return again. My 1 suggestion is to add a ceiling fan to the bedroom ceiling. Menopausal women like myself would appreciate the extra air circulation while trying to sleep. LOL

We really enjoyed the cottage. The location is perfect for beach, restaurants and activities. It is clean and well stocked with everything you need for a beach day. The bathroom was updated with very nice fixtures. It is located in the main floor bedroom. The patio is large and has a table for 6 with additional chairs. This is our third summer staying at this cottage and it is always clean and well maintained. The location is great being just a few blocks from the lake, close to the zoo and close to restaurants. The neighborhood is quiet and very family friendly. This is a great spot for a family.

We enjoyed our stay. The house is about a 5 minute walk to the beach. We also walked to the zoo, which took about 10 minutes. The location is great. The only negative was the bathroom shower was pretty moldy in the corners. The bathroom could use some upgrades. The house was overall clean and comfortable in great location for visiting the beach. My husband, my 14 year old daughter and our 1 year old Havanese (first time traveler) had a very relaxing and fun time! We had lazy mornings, walked to the beach (like 10 times), the zoo, watched the sun set and did a 300 piece puzzle! We read books, listened to music, visited Dune Billies (ate delish food and bought T-shirts!). We shared friendly banter with locals and other visitors, too. Awesome memories that we will cherish!! The cottage had everything we needed and was just perfect in every way! We hope to visit again soon 💕.

Found this place for its pet friendly status and close to Indiana Dunes. For those reasons, it was great. However, when checking in, we found the unit to be not what we expected. The bathroom was bad. Fortunately the host quickly moved us to the other unit. This unit was better, but in all honesty both units need some serious upgrades, especially the bathrooms.

We stayed at the house for the second year in a row and had a wonderful time exploring the beach, zoo and going blueberry picking. The home is located very close to the beach and has a wagon to help move the chairs and sand toys for the easy two block walk. It is close to the zoo and downtown restaurants as well as Washington Park. The house is the perfect size for my spouse, myself and our two young kids. The house has tons of amenities and was a great place to relax between adventures. We will be back!

There were not enough wash cloths for 4 people,1 kitchen towel,no paper towels. The grill had food dripping on the front & the grates had food stuck on them. The patio area was filthy not inviting at all. We contacted the people in charge & they said they would contact their cleaners & they showed up 2 days later while it was raining & she wiped the front of the grill off 7 then entered the cottage across from us.

Our family had a great time staying here! The walk to the beach was very reasonable. We were able to carry everything we wanted and get there in a few minutes. The house had everything we needed for a great stay, plus a few extras. Having one bathroom could be tricky for some but worked for us. Rental process was simple and painless. Cottage was perfect for my husband and I and our 2 small dogs. We didn't even use the upstairs 2 beds. We could have had 2-4 more people with us in this rental. It was clean and equipped with everything that we needed. 5☆ We would stay here again. We explored Michigan City, New Buffalo, and Three Oaks. Beautiful anniversary weekend shopping, eating, and exploring breweries and distilleries!
