PERA Space Capsule Hotel

Location and price is very good but the comforter smells like stink human. I have to tried so hard to sleep. since it was for one night and getting very late I didn't bother to switch but It was not comfortable at all.

You could tell the staff took pride in their little Hostel. The cleanest I’ve yet to stay at and the bathrooms were shared! … you could smell the cleaning products they had used which made me fill more comfortable. The whole building was cool - chilly even though it was 32* outside. The Capsule were spacious and clean the bed was a little harder than normal but fine. I slept well every night except one. They do creak a little so it really does matter who your bunked with. Linens were fresh and crisp as well. Location is just on the edge of Old Town less than 1 min away. Plenty of restaurants and a couple nice bars for live music. Smart Bus terminal is a 10 min walk away… local bus is a 5 min walk in opposite direction which will get you everywhere Patong karon kata etc. Would I stay here again most definitely. The best kept so far when people make an effort it really does make a difference no matter what star the hotel is. Last point - The shower had a rain fall shower head which added a little extra to the experience after some of the other nightmare hotels of late.

The idea of the capsule was very cool so I booked ot to try. It did look much bigger in the picture and literally it is just a singl bed and a meter high or so. Generally enough space to keep your backpack and move things around. I didn't feel claustrophobic. The socket for charging didn't work, at least the USB ones worked (but slow charging). It took some time to figure out how to turn on and off lamps as it wasn't very intuitive. Also there was some shortcircuit noise when I tried to charge with a socket, which didn't work, which made lamps go on and off. Then you can't switch off blur led lamps, so have sleeping mask as it was a bit annoying. There is some noise from ventilation, but you can get used to that. Also you can feel the person moving in cabin below. The lockers just gives a sense of security ( all was fine during my stay without locker) and any card opens any locker, at least mine did and I showed that to receptionist. Safe did not open, so could be not use it. Doors in capsule doesn't lock from outside. Sink in the shared bathroom was dirty as the cleaning is done once a day. Bring slippers for shower. One of the showers had no hot water. Toilet sometimes really stank of sh*t as there is no air freshener. After two days they changed sheets and towel, which was nice as it was difficult to dry towel. Overall interesting experience if you wanna try, but I would mot recommend it.
