King Street Apartments by Urban Rest

Location of the accomodation and the ease in which to come and go from the site. The place was really clean and tidy.

I really would have liked block out blinds in the living room.

After the looong flight to Sydney, it was much appreciated to find a good coffee machine with pods available and a carton of milk in the fridge. The property is in the heart of Newtown, a lively, bohemian part of Sydney. Many restaurants, coffee places to choose from. And it is a short train ride to hit the heart of Sydney. Although there was nobody physically present at the property, emails were answered promptly.

As has been reported in other reviews, there is a degree of noise in the street, but how could it be other wise, being where it is? The aircon in the room blows directly towards the bed which I find slightly uncomfortable. Not much to criticise…

Clean, comfortable, modern, spacious

It was a quick walk from Newtown station and there were many buses that stopped along King St. It’s right behind the main road and next to a cafe. The view is nice from the windows. The laundry machine is the reason why we chose this place.

Bedsheets and towels had black stains on them, apartment was dusty and not thoroughly cleaned. The shower tiles had lots of grime. IF YOURE ON THE FURST FLOOR PEOPLE CAN SEE YOU SHOWERING WHEN ITS SUNNY. THEY CAN SEE YOUR SILHOUETTE AND SKIN COLOR THROUGH THE WINDOWS!!!!! We didn’t know this until the last day. Showering at night is your safest option. Also the shower water from the higher floors drips down past your window onto the street. Street noise is horrendous. It’s not just vehicle sounds but you can hear every conversation of people passing by under you like they’re in the room next door. There’s a lot of drunk people that pass the building and they will scream. If you stay through the weekend you’ll be kept up until 2am by the live band that is playing in the pub up the street.
