Needs work to save this beautiful old property
Ideal location, could be a perfect property has potential and at one point would have been beautiful.
The cleanliness and internal damage let it down. I contacted the owner during my stay because the shower was dirty, it was over run with cobwebs and the wall next to the bed was full of mould. It appears that the beautiful decor is not suitable for the old lime plaster walls and is suffocating the walls hence the mould and all the wall paper peeling off. The shower handle was also broken and I did not want to be charged my deposit for damages that were already in place prior to my stay. As an asthmatic person I did not want to stay at the property once I'd seen the mould so we looked for alternative accommodation but everywhere was full as it was valentines day. Also very noisy neighbours above (think valentines day activities!) One of the bedside lights did not work and the bedroom window was leaking, there was a puddle on the window sill.

Lovely chic property - watch the hot water
Comfy beds, sizeable, well equipped property with tasty decor. Looked beautiful and the balcony was a nice touch
Even with the shower set correctly thw hot water went off in a heart beat. Was like 30s in and out showers. Not great. Didn't have time to fiddle with and solve as only there for the night.

I wouldn’t stay again due to lack of security of which we should have been told about prior to our arrival. It made our

On arriving at the property the front door window was smashed and covered with cardboard, this was a massive safety concern, as I booked non refundable couldn’t cancel, otherwise I wouldn’t have stayed.
Partner was worried at night due to lack of security.
The bedroom needs some TLC wallpaper peeling in areas and paint required around areas.
Living room was a little dusty and dirt around the wall areas.

Property was close to Layburn high street.
Check-in and Key Collection
After booking the property well in advance they waited until a few days before to tell me there was an additional £100 ‘damage deposit’ to pay and an additional ID check required before they provided the method to collect the keys.
This deposit and ID check had to be done via the property service, not through booking.com causing immediate cause for concern regarding security and personal data usage. Providing additional personal information when I already booked through a secure website is not appropriate, and no details on how my personal information would be deleted after my stay was provided. The additional £100 took several days to be reimbursed after my stay, unacceptable.
• Requirements for ‘damage deposit’ to and additional ID check should be removed.
The instructions for which door and key box belonged to the property were unclear and it took me 20 minutes to find the right one.
• Instructions should be updated to improve ability to find the gate, key box and door.
I requested an early check-in, but they could not tell me if this was possible until the morning of arrival – so my travel plans and days activities could not be planned in advance
• Ensuring cleaning activity is completed early in the day at all times to ensure early check-in requirements can be met would resolve this issue.
Outside Door
The outside door was split to resemble a stable door, but there was no way to connect the two halves together so each time I opened or closed the door I had to do each piece separately.
• A simple latch/catch to join the two halves of the door together would resolve this.
Room Temperature
The temperature of the room was excessively hot. There was no AC or Radiator to control room temperature, it appeared to be coming from the under-floor heating where there was two panels. One panel was broken, and neither panel could be adjusted to reduce the heat.

Location was great you could walk to shops and bars
Once we found the access door which is on the main road not in love lane as we were directed (property backs onto love lane) the property was not the one that was advertised. The bathroom was very small. There was no sofa. There was a king size bed but left not enough space on either side to get in and out of bed. The main bug bear was plain glass without a blind or shutter in the door,and you could see the bed.

Wonderful stay
Beautiful fully equipped 1 bedroom cottage, just seconds from Leyburn town centre which offers 5 pubs, 2 curry houses, fish and chip shop, and well stocked Co-Op. Accommodation nigh on perfect, and great, friendly communication from hosts

Beautiful home in a lovely village, the location is ideal just a short walk from restaurants and pub while being in a quiet area. Really nice spec inside too.

Perfect location right in the centre of town if you have dogs again perfect location
Only one door snd had a huge issue with the lock . Hard to open snd lock door. This was an issue as took nearly 5/10 minutes to open and i had dogs and an 88 mother with me . I was concerned that if needed we couldn’t leave the property quickly. I did communicate my concerns via text with the property and they did reassure me the locksmith would attend and fix the issue for future customers.

Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay here.
The location is ideal and the apartment is excellent. The bed is very comfortable, the showereis excellent and the kitchen is extremely well appointed.
However, there are a number of small things that would improve our stay. The bathroom mirror and lighting made it almost impossible to insert my contacts or shave. The bedroom windows are painted shut and don't open, so sleeping on hot nights is difficult.

the property is not well signposted , in fact the sign for the cottage is on a gate to their other property
1, the lock to the front door , the key sticks on the inside and only a strong man could force the key to open . this is a fire risk to anyone renting this property
2. there is a strong smell of damp as soon as you enter the property
3. the decoration is poor and outdated - the wall paper is peeling off the wall
4. everything about the property shows signs of no money being spent to maintain it
5. prior to getting the door code , i received numerous emails re a damages deposit butg not much about where the cottage was other than the postcode when we go to Leyburn we spent 15 minutes looking for the " fabulous cottage" ... their words - until we found the terrace building looking a bit used .

Had a pleasant say , the location was perfect👌. The only negatives were No towels so had to go & buy one so we could get washed. Bathroom was tiny & struggled to get to the actual loo due to very little space between the sink & toilet & think it would be impossible to get into the shower for the same reason. The sink in the way. Was no teabags or coffee but there was milk also No waste bin to put our rubbish in. Sounds like I'm being picky but these little things make all the difference

Pleasant back lacking of easy to rectify things that was overlooked
The property was lovley but was disappointed with just 2 forks for a family of 5 to eat with
Also it was a warm lovely day and evening all the outside furniture was not put out it was all dirty uncovered I tried to clean some of it the table and brought out some of the dinning chairs to sit round it outside it really let the place down such a shame for how much we paid £240 for 16 hours there I would have expected it to be spot on .

It was out of the way, easy to find, and the bed was comfortable. The bath in the room is nice. Location is good.
When I booked this I fully read the listing, however.. after the non refundable payment was taken I was then sent an 11 page rental agreement I was not aware of prior to booking. There were some rather unreasonable clauses in the contract i thought were strange, such as.. the property states dogs are welcome, however after payment was taken the rental agreement stipulates the size of the dog has to be small/medium… so if you have a Great Dane, you’ve messed up booking here. There was a full page about the WiFi… usually the password and name of the WiFi would suffice. I messaged the property about this and asked them to direct me to where this surprise rental agreement is on the listing.. I was sent a link that just takes me back to the main body of the listing. It is NOT on there. You get hit with it AFTER the non refundable booking has already been paid.
The tv cannot be seen from the bed so we had to use our iPad to watch movies. It’s very cold, the bathroom is tiny, I couldn’t use the shower because I couldn’t fit in it.. I’m 5ft 10!
The property doesn’t have a cosy feel to it as you would be led to believe from the photos. And they took a £100 refundable deposit from me to cover the cost of any potential damages… I think this is steep for a room of this size. I did not receive this back until 7 days later, which was annoying! READ THE SMALL PRINT before booking this property, I wish I had before I made a transactional decision booking this property that I would not have taken otherwise. Overpriced for what it is. There’s no bin anywhere in the room, you have to pack up all your rubbish and try find a bin later, I’ve never stayed anywhere that didn’t have a bin, I think it is unfair to expect customers to haul all their rubbish to a nearby bin when the cost of the room for just one night is over £100, and that’s in addition to the £100 deposit they take on top… surely this covers the cost of emptying a small bin?

Location was superb, the room was very clean, the bed was very comfy and the bath was great
The place was not well furnished and lacked the basics that would have made for a more comfortable stay e.g. there was no bin, there was a clothes rail but no coat hangers, no draining board, and no blind/curtain on the door window. A small sofa would have made the stay more comfortable. The description was somewhat misleading as it said it had a living room and a separate bedroom, but in fact there was no living room and it was all in one room. This would have been fine but the description should be clearer and not say there is a living room.

Lovely modern apartment with outdoor area for the warmer weather
We booked the day before our stay because we were let down by our original host. When we arrived the accommodation was not ready at 4pm. We contacted the host and within 20 minutes we were offered a better accommodation at no extra cost. We were glad of this because the 1 bed apartment was a studio and rather small but the 2 bed apartment was lovely and had plenty of room. Only down side was there were only 2 forks - ok for us but could be a problem for more people.

Clean but small and lacked facilities .
We were expecting the apartment as shown and not the one for 2 which I didn’t see on advert. It was very small especially the shower and toilet room. There wasn’t anywhere for our toothbrushes etc. Also the toilet paper had to be left on the floor which wasn’t very hygienic. There also wasn’t anywhere to sit comfortably because of lack of sofa. We had to watch tv sitting on dining chairs. The bed was comfortable and clean. There was a lack of places for clothing. A weekend ok but any longer this would not be suitable.

Very poor had to contact to find the access into the property nobody around to discuss the issues that I had in my opini
The picture above is not the place I stayed in, although the address is love Lane Leyburn. The access is on reeth Road. It is not a black door as stated it is a green door as you arrive into the courtyard. It is very untidy with trees that have been cut down but the bottom left so hence a trip hazard.
On arrival into the property, I had to clean the shower as it was mouldy
As stated in the itinerary there was an iron and ironing board but no iron also a bin but no bin a rail to hand clothing up with no clothes hangers
No glasses to drink out of in the kitchen a dust pan but no brush
The Internet details for this property are very misleading as they are showing several properties within the complex. There are no views from the building itself and shows the classic picture on the Internet of leyburn shawl which can be seen from a short walk from the property

Disappointed
The accommodation was a disappointment. It was not as described and many things missing. Toilet flush broken, no glasses, no sofa, no outside space, rubble next to house door, tiny shower, paper peeling off the walls, painting untidy. Booking.com staff were great and moved us. Hopefully all issues will be resolved.

The king size bed in the master bedroom was amazingly comfortable. I had a great sleep. The property is quirky with a distinct design throughout which although not to everyone's taste, makes it unique and appealing.
If you need a microwave, this property is not for you.
Some TLC needed such as repairing the peeling wallpaper but that did not impact on our stay.
