Tolle Lage - nah dran an der Stadt, aber mit genau dem richtigen Abstand über zwei kleine Brücken zum alten Hafen, dass man vom Trubel nicht gestresst wird. 5 Min. zum quirligen Viertel Le Gabut. Super Aussicht von Balkon auf die Stadt mit Sonnenaufgang und Sonnenuntergang. Tiefgarage und Aufzug. Sehr nette, hilfsbereite Vermieterin.

This top (third) floor apartment has great views over the port of La Rochelle from the lounge and the main balcony. It is within a few minutes walk of the old port and town in a quiet location near the aquarium (which is worth a visit). The railway and bus stations are an easy, flat ten minute walk. Chantal was welcoming and helpful when she met us at the apartment. We arrived by train and the meeting was pre-arranged on WhatsApp. The apartment is well appointed with one large lounge with two settees (canapés, sofas). A lovely apartment for a week's holiday relaxing and exploring La Rochelle.

It was not clear to us on the booking websites that, although there is a wash-hand basin and shower ensuite from one bedroom, there is no toilet. The other bedroom has a bath with shower and adjacent toilet. For our own medical reasons, we would have much preferred an apartment with two toilets. Perhaps the booking information could be more explicit. There is a requirement for an extra 500 euro, refundable deposit. This should have been by bank transfer but we were asked to bring cash. However, this was not required as we had to leave a day early and a personal hand-over at the end was not possible. As is often the case, we had to buy toilet paper, washing stuff for dishes and clothes. Clarity on the booking website would have allowed us to arrive prepared. However, overall, an excellent apartment and we thank Chantal for all her attention and help when there was an issue with the washing machine.
