About this house rental
The headline says it all ... this adorable cottage exudes grace and charm!
The first room you'll see upon entering is the living area, anchored with comfy furniture and an area rug. Beyond that is a great kitchen, perfect for hosting friends, plus a dining area, all tastefully decorated and appointed. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a dresser, and a large closet, while the bathroom has a full shower and bath. Go to the backyard to "work" from home, barbecue, or nap in the California sun!
The Space:
From the moment you step in, you'll notice and enjoy the owner's taste in furnishings, decor, and general ambiance. From the warm, inviting living area with comfy seating and tasteful decorations, to the well-stocked kitchen and the cozy dining area, to the equally tasteful bedroom with a delightful queen bed, and finally in the backyard gazebo barbecue and entertainment area ... there just isn't a better place to enjoy your visit to San Jose!
Want to cook? The fully-stocked kitchen awaits you. How about lazily bingeing on your favorite series? Head to the living area and lounge there. Feel like a barbecue? Enjoy a lazy afternoon and evening in the backyard. Time to sleep? The queen-sized bed beckons.
Note that there is an ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit, also called an "in-law unit") in the backyard. It's discretely located behind a tall hedge, and the only contact you'll have with the tenant there is if you happen to be in the backyard, and they happen to be going down the side walkway to the unit.
Guest Access:
You have exclusive access to the entire cottage. The owner lives there much of the year and makes the home available for guests when she travels. Though the cottage has two bedrooms, the owner stores her personal items in one of the bedrooms, which is locked. You'll use the other bedroom.
Note, as per above, that there is an ADU in the backyard, and you share the side walkway with the tenant there.
The Neighborhood:
Willow Glen is a delightful San Jose neighborhood, with streets lined with gracious homes of all sizes, types, and vintages. Downtown Willow Glen has a bustling array of restaurants, coffee shops, and stores, and there are numerous parks nearby. Several highways are in easy driving distance. San Francisco is about an hour away, while the coast is about 30-40 minutes away.
Getting Around:
Silicon Valley was built in the 50s and 60s, when cars ruled the world, and public transit was an afterthought. The result is ... not great public transit. You'll need a car to get around, or use Uber or Lyft.
Interaction with Guests:
The home is only available when the owner is gone, so you won't encounter her. Note, as per above, that there is an ADU in the backyard, and you share the side walkway with the tenant there. The property manager is always available for questions.
