Beautiful grounds, functional facilities. Green and lush. Nice, small balcony.
Notably removed from its surroundings. Bathroom smelled of mold. Expensive for what we received. Wi-Fi is mediocre.

This hotel is well off the beaten path. The last 2.5 miles is a dusty gravel road with nothing on it. The hotel has no sign, and is not easy to find. My taxi driver had never heard of the hotel and I had to map it for him. there’s nothing nearby. Nothing. At. All. There’s no easy way to get a taxi to leave, either. The information—including in the room—indicates they have a tienda (small store). They do not. There is no store or restaurant in walking distance, despite what the information says. They have a communal kitchen, but if you don’t have a car, bring food with you. They also state that you can have breakfast in the morning, but they didn’t serve any while I was there.
The room and grounds were clean and attractive, but there was an obvious wad of dark hair in the shower. Ick. It was chilly while I was staying in January, but no way to heat the room. No extra blankets on the bed. The room is very open to the elements with obvious holes in the roof. Thankfully it didn’t rain while I was there. Walls are thin.
There are 4 very large dogs on the property. They made me uncomfortable, though they didn’t harm me. However, they bark CONSTANTLY. And ALL NIGHT LONG.
You’ll need at least basic Spanish to communicate as there is no English.
Booking listed this as “close” to the Monarch Butterfly preserve. It was more than an hour’s drive. Round trip cost more than $100 by taxi. Not my idea of close.
I would not stay here again.
