5* boutique hotel
Perfect holidays ( weather, location, people) . Its a new 5* boutique hotel -family managed.
Very safe and pleasent walking distance to beach/shop 15 minutes.
The accommodation Its great, very clean with real pictures on official website. Very quiet at night so easy to rest and get up for walking at 6am 🌞
The owners ( Hacer and Hakan) are kind, honest and very hospitable. Anything you request will assist.
Hakan introduced me to the protected area for turtles 🐢 in Turkey. Great organisation supporting the natural habitat for turtles.
Hakan showed me the day trips, Hammam deals. Even if he drive me to several areas of the resort he didn't charged me, even if I offered to pay.
Beach ⛱️ some areas are with big rocks, some with pebbles, some sandy - depends where you choose to stay. The entrance into the sea is rocky or pebbles at first, then it becomes sandy with calm waves, not too deep).
I love walking, so I walked to nearby beaches for 1 hour or more. Very easy to walk/ hiking since it's very safe. Not many public beaches so be aware of that.
Found a public beach with great views, prices, quality and professional staff (1 hour walking or by small bus 🚌 3Eu). called Q Beach Restaurant & Lounge https://share.google/Nh4RqOzFnGDF4gvfV
I recommend 💯
Thanks for a fantastic stay Hacer and Hakan. 💝💥🫶
Negative:
The beach belong to the luxury hotels, so not many options to find a public beach or cafe/ bar they will allow you to use the beach if you eat / drink from them.
Prices stars from 5/7Eu for latte , water 3Eu, pasta 25Eu, chicken grill 20Eu+, Wine£8, Cocktails £13 (these are starting prices , could be higher based on how luxury the place is).
If you're a female expect: restaurants staff will call you: " baby, love, darling, lets go for a drink, can I have your phone number?" etc. If you're kind, politely decline then they will not stop , unless you're really harsh /rude to them, directly.
It happened to me, they stopped speaking to me at all, no service 🫣🤣 a bit annoying because I paid for everything I eat/ drink,
So I am not sure why they believe profesonalism should not be applied just because I said"please be professional, dont call me baby".
Each lunch/ dinner cost me 40Eu or more so I expect basic decent service.
Stores/ pharmacies: prices are not displayed. Be aware they will tell you a price in Turkish lira and will charge you a different price in Eu/£.Always double check the money conversion. I was overcharged on my card - instead of £8/ paid£18. Luckily I notice when I arrived back to the hotel, so Hakan came with me to the store to speak to the cashier, money were refunded to me. He only apologise to Hakan, not to me.
But, overall it was a great experience, amazing weather, beautiful holidays in Side. I recommend Oregano boutique hotel - Hacer and Hakan.
Ohhh, airport departure experience: make sure you have Euros /Cash only - is the only currency accepted, not £££ !!! The card operating system is not working during the flight.
So, I politely asked a team member to exchange 5£ - 5E, to buy a small chocolate since they don't accept card or ££ cash (to purchase real food). He politely declined, 2 hours later, I asked again, and he made sure to mention that this was a personal favour and that normally wouldn't be acceptable ( 5£ for 5Eu - decent exchange in my mind) bit shocked, I politely expressed my gratitude for being able to buy the snickers bar.
