We stayed in this house the last week of May and first part of June, 2024. It was perfect for what we wanted this trip. It was one of the lowest prices I saw for lakefront property. We took day trips to Mackinac Island, Boyne, Traverse City and Petoskey, and had breakfast and a light dinner each day at the house.
The house is large and well maintained. My contact person Brook was quick to answer my questions.
My daughter is a college athlete and needed a gym to workout a few days. Redeemed was a great gym, and was extremely helpful for out of town vacationers.

We had a wonderful family vacation on Houghton Lake. The house was very well equipped with everything you would need plus some extras. There were lots of games and puzzles to play since our entire trip was chilly and rainy. The big windows overlooking the lake were beautiful. I’d recommend for your next family gathering!

The size and layout of this Airbnb was very nice. The cleanliness of the place and other amenities were poor. First of all, the fire detectors upstairs were hanging from the ceiling not functional, many mattresses were very old and soft. I'm uncertain if the mattress pads were washed as they looked stained. The blinds in the lower bedroom only closed halfway as the other half were broken off and under the bed, the pots and pans were very scratched and dented making poor contact with the stove, the walls and ceiling in the main floor bathroom were dirty as well as the white bathroom doors where dirty handprints were present. The water smelled funny, so we checked the water softener, and it was completely empty. The coffee maker was disgusting so we cleaned it. The view was beautiful on the lake through all the windows, but the windows were very dirty as well as the patio door and rest of the windows of the house. Seventy five percent of the light bulbs in the house were burnt out or mix matched bulbs. Out of 2 ceiling fans upstairs, only one light bulb worked, making it very dark up there. I called the housekeeper
Brook. who said she would send someone with a ladder to change them, but they never showed up. The floor planks in the kitchen floor slipped leaving a gap where you could get your toe caught in it. We fixed that with wood glue. When putting things in the fridge and freezer, we found a dead bug in the freezer. We could not figure out how to use most of the fans in the house. The silverware drawers in the kitchen were dirty and the coffee tables were dusty. The strangest paint job I have seen was that whoever painted in there, only painted as far as a ladder could reach and then left the upper ceiling without fresh paint that was very obvious. The paint going upstairs also had major roller marks. This place has great potential to be very nice but the housekeeping leaves something to be desired. The owner is clearly not fixing and keeping up with any maintenance. The only contact I was given was the housekeeper. I would have preferred to speak to the owner, perhaps they are not aware that their place is being neglected.
