We were 7 adults and a 4 year old and this was the perfect house for our 4 day stay. We literally said “Wow” when we walked in the door. It was large, welcoming and well stocked with any thing we could imagine. The 4 year old had his own bedroom and loved the toys that were there. We chilled, we grilled and we filled the house with the great sound system. We will be coming back to this gem!

I can't say enough great things about this home! We traveled with another family so our group was 4 adults / 3 kids (5 and under) and we stayed for almost a week. We had lots of space to spread out and you can't beat the location! For those with kids, ours loved the library - there were so many books, games, and toys that we barely used the activities we brought from home. The 3rd floor was a great designated "kid floor". The older kids each got their pick at a bed and we could set up the pack 'n play with lots of space to move around. A nice plus was that we were all able to fit in the bedroom for bedtime stories each night without feeling cramped, which isn't always the case. We usually travel with a sound machine but the kids' room has a white noise machine so we didn't need it. The 3rd floor bathroom was a good size and well equipped for the littles. We didn't use the office and were able to lock it to keep kids from exploring in there. The second floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Each couple got a larger bedroom and bathroom, we had lots of space and privacy. My daughter ended up moving to the "pink room" on the 2nd floor (baby sis was keeping her awake) and slept great. The house is old so the floors/stairs make a lot of noise - we were worried that the noise would keep our daughter up but it wasn't an issue for her or anyone else. The first floor is open and spacious with a bathroom and bedroom off of the kitchen. The kitchen is huge and we had fun gathering around the island at breakfast time. The whole house, especially the kitchen, is fully stocked with anything you could possibly need. And the house is so CLEAN! Probably one of the cleanest that we've stayed in. The house is a short drive to Acadia and most of the main attractions in the park. The proximity to Main St. in Bar Harbor was perfect. We took daily walks for coffee, dinner, ice cream, shopping - everything is so close! The walk is lovely and the kids enjoyed it. Lastly, the hosts are incredible. Ali and Charles checked in regularly and were very helpful. They have great guides and tips, we definitely used some of their recommendations. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we already miss it!

This house was truly a home for our family! The place is warm and welcoming and so comforable. The front porch welcomes you into the place with a great entryway, more than enough hanging space in the wide closet, and even a bench to help with boots and shoes. The first floor is almost all open to the huge, totally outfitted, gourmet kitchen. We didn’t miss any utensils, appliances, or pots & pans. We also appreciated the large supply of cloth napkins to save paper use. There is a very cozy, comfortable sitting area at the front portion of the house; the twelve-seat dining table is adjoining and perfectly positioned to be able to converse with the cooks in the kitchen, or the others seated, enjoying drinks in the sitting area. The back portion of the house includes a full bathroom and a secluded bedroom off the kitchen—this bedroom also has a private entryway at the end of the driveway; this access is perfect for bringing in groceries and your bags. There is also a delightful library area with a big-screen TV surrounded by a flexible, sectional seating area. The library is full of books for all ages, every game you could imagine, and also a very convenient coffee-bar with a burr coffee grinder, a gourmet coffee maker, and a water kettle--and even a sink to help with water and clean-up. The huge flat screen is easy to connect with on the WiFi and we watched movies with our own accounts and there were some late-night games via the Xboxes we brought. The bedrooms on the second and third floors are spacious, well-appointed, and even had convenient phone chargers. The bathrooms are all very functional with showers and even additional spray heads for convenience. Plenty of water pressure! The basement offers a small laundry equivalent with multiple washers and dryers—even the detergent and dryer balls! Our stay included quite a bit of rain and cooler temperatures, but the house gave everyone plenty of space to spread out and relax in homey comfort. We went on a variety of hikes on nearby trails and even along the ocean. So close to the ocean and the downtown. We enjoyed the e-bikes we brought as well. Basically this is a hidden gem in Bar Harbor that will hold 12-16 people and surround you with comfort and privacy.
