Avadale Wayanad (Stag Groups Not Allowed)

Avadale Wayanad is an excellent place to stay with family, friends, or as a couple. Reaching the resort is a real off-road adventure, with a thrilling 4×4 jeep ride guided by an experienced driver, Thomas. The staff were very supportive, friendly, and well-behaved. The food—both breakfast and dinner—was delicious. The team also guided us well in exploring nearby tourist attractions. The resort’s location is especially beautiful, situated in the middle of a coffee estate with stunning views. Our jeep driver, Thomas, explained the resort’s surroundings and shared interesting information about the local people and area. Overall, it is definitely worth staying at Avadale Wayanad. Highly recommended for families, friends, and couples!

The resort itself is quite amazing...pool is well maintained, and the cleanliness is unmatched. The included breakfast was amazing but the paid lunch could have been better. Paneer Kurchan tasted like pickle tbh. The jeep ride to reach the place is kinda crazy. All in all, if you want a stay in / staycation kinda resort , this is perfect. For frequent outings and night rides , not recommended as the jeep facilities are only till 8pm

Our stay at Avadale Wayanad showed us how one person can ruin the entire experience of a place. The man in charge of the property, Sunil, couldn't have been more hostile towards guests. From the day of check-in till the final checkout, he made sure to spoil our experience with his rude and unprofessional behaviour. Out of all the incidents, I will write about two that really put us off. 1. The food ordering experience We were super hungry after spending time at the pool and tried to order food. The menu kept in our room had only starters and a few accompaniments. Unsure about the menu, we called the manager, Sunil, to ask if they had any main course options for lunch. He answered the call and, in the rudest tone, told us that we could only order what was on the menu kept in the room and nothing more. I told him that the menu only had a list of starters and that there were no main course options like noodles or fried rice. To this, he again replied that whatever was on the menu was all they had, and that they didn't even have everything listed there. He then asked, "Can you first decide what you want and then call me?" This was the response we received for a simple query about food! We eventually had to order Maggi for lunch because, according to him, that was all they had. An hour later, he sent us a digital copy of the menu on WhatsApp and claimed that he had already shared it with us the previous day during check-in, but that it had somehow got deleted. Not even a simple apology for the confusion or the way he had spoken to us! 2. The food bill payment experience When it was time to settle the food bill, Sunil told us that we had to come to his cabin to make the payment, as he couldn't share the QR code on WhatsApp. When we asked him why, he gave us some explanation about delays in receiving payments. We were staying in the Rock Cabin, their premium suite, and had to walk down and climb the stairs to reach his cabin in the dark. After making our way there, he simply showed us the QR code on his POS machine for payment! Mr. Sunil seems to have forgotten that he works in the hospitality industry, where the whole idea is to make guests feel comfortable and make their stay as pleasant and hassle-free as possible. Instead, we were made to go through unnecessary inconvenience and deal with a very rude and unprofessional attitude. Avadale Wayanad has the potential to offer a great stay, but our experience was seriously let down by the person in charge. Hospitality is not just about the property or the rooms; it is also about how you treat your guests. Unfortunately, that was completely missing in our experience.
