We stayed as a group of six (VIP reservation) from July 1st to 2nd. I had called in advance to confirm our breakfast and was clearly assured that although it might not be a buffet due to low occupancy, they would provide more than enough Sri Lankan food for all of us.
However, when we returned from our morning safari on the 2nd, we were shocked. For six adults, they only provided Kiribath (milk rice) and about 20 string hoppers (Idiyappam). This is nowhere near enough food. When we asked for more, they only brought out 5 additional pieces.
The most unbelievable part was the behavior of the supervisor, a man named Indika. Less than 30 minutes after we started eating, he sat down at a table in the corner of the exact same dining hall and started eating a massive plate piled high with string hoppers and curry. We strongly suspect that he was eating the food that should have been served to us, the paying guests.
The two floor staff members who served us were excellent, and we highly appreciate their hard work. Unfortunately, because of Supervisor Indika's incredibly unprofessional and selfish behavior, this hotel has lost us as customers. We will never stay here again.
I am also posting this review on Google so that travelers from around the world are aware of this issue.

The hotel is good, location is also good. The temple is around 1.5 km from the hotel. Very nice and helpful people. The only problem is the food, which is expensive.
