Let’s face it, Indonesia is the country of the most friendly and hospitable people on earth (they share this first place with Cambodia: hey westerners go check these countries out…you will see and agree). This hotel is no exception. As our Indonesian is poor (about 50 words by the end of our trip) there certainly was a language barrier, but this does not diminish the hospitality, on the contrary. One person in the hotel is absolutely worth mentioning; a waitress named Dela. She went as far as asking us what Indonesian dishes we knew and liked. When she heard gado-gado she said it would be especially made for us the next morning. The hotel serves a buffet breakfast and is intermediate (100+) sized so this is unusual. Still, the next morning we were greeted with a big smile and there was for each of us a beautiful arranged plate of bean sprouts, veggies, rice cakes etc and peanut sauce. Delicious and gorgeous at the same time. The hotel is further impeccable and well resourced.

This was my second stay here, and I fully expect to be back for a third (and beyond). It was a one-night stopover on a business visit to Jogja. The hotel is a great choice, with very comfortable, clean good-sized rooms, kind and attentive staff, and a really great location, both for tourism (if you have time) and for getting there and away – it’s directly across the road from the main railway station, so ideal for arrival or departure by air (via airport train – be sure to book ahead - they sell out) or KAI mainline trains. Sure – there is the occasional sound of train horns in the night (but I like that sound and go directly back to sleep!) There’s also a great rooftop café-bar with very friendly service, and small rooftop pool (although temporarily closed for servicing at the time of my visit). Thanks to all the team at the hotel!
