Casa da Cisaltina

Our stay at Casa da Cisaltina was nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and genuinely cared for by the incredibly kind and attentive staff. Their hospitality made the whole experience feel personal, warm, and unforgettable. The garden is a true highlight — beautifully maintained, peaceful, and full of charm. Whether relaxing in the shade or enjoying the fresh morning air, it felt like a little oasis that perfectly complements the historic character of the house. The rooms strike the perfect balance between modern comfort and authentic Azorean character. Everything is thoughtfully designed, spotless, and cosy, with just the right touch of tradition preserved in the details. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. Breakfast was another standout moment each day — generous, delicious, and full of local flavours. From homemade jams to fresh breads and regional products, every morning felt like a celebration of São Miguel’s culinary traditions. What made the experience even more special were the stories shared about the house and the neighbourhood. Learning about the history of the property and the surrounding area added depth and meaning to our stay, making us appreciate the place even more.Casa da Cisaltina is the kind of accommodation that stays with you long after you leave — beautiful, welcoming, and full of heart. This place was amazing, definitely our favorite stay while we were on the island. The room was huge and perfect for my group of 3 girls. It is super cute too. Self check in process is always nice too. Took us a second to find the door we needed to enter but everything was super easy after that. The garden was beautiful and I wish we had more time to spend there. The breakfast was great too! They provided a selection of cheese, bread, yogurt, fruit, and meat. The staff was super nice and didn’t seem to mind that we didn’t speak Portuguese. The location was fine, about a 20 min drive from Furnas. Easy enough to get around to the different sights on the east side of the island. Would highly recommend!

I cannot say enough positive things about this location and the host! It has amazing views, the breakfast was wonderful, and Fatima and her staff are simply outstanding! The rooms have a great view, and they are big with a comfortable bed. When we go back to the Azores we will definitely be staying here again!
