Via Pratello is in a location that allows walking to most major sights in Bologna. It has wonderful small bars and restaurants just outside on the street. Because of the internal courtyard, outside noise from surrounding establishments is not an issue when the courtyard door is closed. A major problem for the apartment is the tenants within the apartment complex. One in particular chooses to blast loud music and sing along with it during the night! Ear plugs did not help. The apartment has a nice courtyard of its own which is convenient for drying clothes on a drying rack that is provided. Unfortunately Guilia was not able to meet us during our extended stay but was available by email.

We recently spent three nights at this location and it was exactly as advertised. If you drive into Bologna you will need to find parking near the street this is on as you cannot park on this street. We found a parking garage for $25 EU a day which worked fine for us. Giulia’s mom met us at the home and we appreciate her waiting for us as we were delayed getting there. She was very nice and showed us around the home. The full sized fridge was a bonus, the bathroom shower was very big and the large bed was extremely comfortable. We loved the location as we could step out the door and get cappuccino, a snack, groceries and a drink. We became friendly with Jianni a local bar owner who had good wine, a full bar and he served free apps when you ordered drinks. We were within an easy walk to the Piazza and all the restaurants. The home was well equipped with an iron and board, kettle for heating water, and a dishwasher! There was some kind of event going on so there were hordes of people in town which made for great people watching. On Friday the partying stopped around 2 or 3 AM and we could hear some street noise from the home. Saturday was epic though as one of the neighbors must have brought the party inside and the noise outside never stopped. Our bad for not bringing earplugs. When we left to catch the train at 5:15 AM there were still people wandering around who had clearly been up all night. The noise obviously cannot be controlled and this was a special occasion but I recommend good ear plugs just in case. We didn’t get a chance to use the outdoor space but there was plenty of natural light and it was a great place to stay. We would love to come back to Bologna and would would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment is located in a busy night section of the city, great place if you want night life. Easy location to get to the historic areas. The weather was cold so couldn’t use the garden. Don’t recommend for much cooking. Giulia is a great host, responded quickly as needed and helped order a taxi for an early departure.

The Via del Pratello neighborhood is a perfect location for enjoying Bologna. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. The accommodations were quite comfortable. The weather wasn’t ideal, which meant we couldn’t take advantage of the patio, but it was nice to look at. Via del Pratello is a busy area with lots of bars and restaurants. Friday and Saturday nights were hopping, but the apartment is shielded from most of the noise and most bars close at midnight. I’d recommend staying here.

My husband and I recently stayed in this apartment for 4 nights during our visit to Bologna. We can't say enough great things -- the apartment was large and spotlessly clean; we loved having aperitivo in the back garden, and appreciated the air conditioning! The owner was in touch to make sure we were comfortable and had all we needed, as well as offering to answer any questions we had about the area. The location was perfect -- close to everything, and we especially enjoyed being surrounded by great cafes, bars, and restaurants. Yet, inside the apartment it was practically silent and it was easy to get a good night's rest. We would love to stay here again should we be fortunate enough to visit this lovely city again. This apartment is on a very lively street filled with restaurants. The apartment itself is set well back from the street, through a courtyard, so you don't hear the noise when you want to go to bed. There is a greengrocer a few steps away and within a five minute walk you will find a grocery store. The main piazza, Maggiori, where you will find the tourist office is a twenty minute stroll. The apartment itself is nicely equipped and the private back garden provides a quiet sanctuary in which to enjoy a glass of wine at day's end. Giulia was a great host, and provided everything we needed. We very much enjoyed our stay.

We chose Bologna for our introduction to Italy because we wanted to experience life in an Italian metropolis. We enjoyed our visits to the Collezioni Comunali d'Atre (the hour before closing) and the Collezioni Tagliavini (just after opening). Both of these museums are within a few minutes walk of Pratello Garden, as are most of the city's other main attractions (make sure you take a look inside the Basilica of San Petronio). We were quite comfortable in the apartment when we returned in the evening following our wanderings. As other reviewers have pointed out, the apartment is on a street that transforms itself at night and, for the most part, it is possible to enjoy a quiet evening at "home", if that is to your liking. The bed was very comfortable and we loved hearing birdsong in the back garden each morning!

I stayed in the apartment with 2 friends and we found it to be perfect for our needs. We loved sitting outside in the courtyard in the evenings and the apartment is on the back of the building, so very quiet, but the street it is located on is very lively. We enjoyed having a variety of bars and restaurants at our doorstep and it feels like you're staying in a neighborhood. Once the shopkeepers saw us a few times, they recognized us and were super friendly. Giulia was very helpful and kind.

I really enjoyed staying in this lovely apartment. I was in Bologna for two extremely hot weeks and it was so refreshing to come home to this place that always stayed cool. People really knew how to build back then! Having the charming garden was such a delight: breakfast outside enjoying the warmth and the plants. The apartment is fully equipped and had everything I could wish for from dishwater to washing machine and oven. Everything is in excellent condition and the owner is very nice and accommodating. Needless to say that everything was clean and well looked after. The apartment is inside the city walls and very close to the center of town. The street itself is famous for its atmosphere and restaurants and bars. Although the street is busy at night, the apartment is very quiet because it towards the back of the building. I can highly recommend this apartment.

This apartment was ideally situated for Bologna city centre, approximately a 20 minute walk from the main station (buses were available). Although in a busy street with bars and restaurants, it was very quiet being at the back of a courtyard. The apartment was accurately described, spotlessly clean and well equipped. We were met at the apartment by Giulia who was helpful regarding additional information such as supermarkets, etc. There was a good range of books and tourist leaflets. The trees from the adjoining garden overshadowed Pratello's garden. Whilst providing heavy shade, this made the garden and the apartment a little gloomy. We would stay at this apartment again as it is so central and would recommend it for couples.

Delightful second visit

Last year we came to Bologna on family business and stayed at Pratello Gardens. We loved the city and the apartment so much we came again this year. Pratello Gardens is on a bustling street with many restaurants and bars and a wonderful, modern Co-op which provides everything a self-catering tourist needs. However, while the street may be bustling the apartment is in a traditional “gated” building so it is an oasis of calm. Sitting in the beautiful garden with a bowl of fresh olives and a glass of Chianti it is easy to imagine you are miles away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The apartment is modern and scrupulously clean with a well equipped kitchen and an excellent bathroom (I only wish I had this shower at home). On the rare evenings we were too tired to do any more "touristy" things we sat in the comfortable sitting room and watched Italian TV. For those of you that love a detective mystery I suggest you add "Inspector Montalbano" to your box sets! The centre of Bologna is only a short walk away (around 10 minutes) and the owner, Giulia, is friendly and helpful and speaks excellent English (in addition to several other languages.) If you want a hassle free stay in Bologna in a clean, modern and quiet environment, yet within the very centre of this wonderful city, I cannot recommend this apartment enough.

The apartment is well appointed with a very well equipped kitchen. It is close to two supermarkets and via del Pratello, which is basically pedestrianised, has LOTS of great restaurants and bars. The apartment is set back from the street so it has no noise issues and it also has a private courtyard. It is an easy 10 minute walk to the city centre and a 5 minute taxi ride from the station. Guilia was very easy to deal with and she responded promptly to emails etc. She also very kindly printed some tickets I had purchased online to watch Bologna FC play (a great experience if you are in Bologna during the football season).

Really enjoyed our stay in Bologna. Description and photos were accurate. It was cosy, but we thought the rooms were really quite spacious. Great location. Approx. 5 to 10 minute walk to city centre. Supermarket few minutes down the street. Easy walk to Station, but takes about 25 minutes. Perhaps too far if you have luggage, but taxis available few minutes walk from apartment. Cafés, restaurants also close. Booking the accommodation and follow up correspondence was very good, and Giulia was there with a very warm welcome on our arrival. The apartment was clean and well appointed. Great washing machine and refrigerator. Really enjoyed our mornings and evenings having a drink or coffee in the garden. No street noise issues. Would recommend to friend or relative. Felt very relaxed here. Thanks so much Giulia.

After much online searching for rental apartments in Bologna we picked this one because of the fantastic reviews, particularly regarding its cleanliness and city centre location. We were not disappointed. The apartment was lovely, spotlessly clean and had a fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom was delightful with an excellent shower. We went at the right time of the year (no mosquitos) to fully enjoy the beautiful, traditional garden. Giulia is a friendly lady who speaks perfect English. She met us at the apartment and with the help of the many guidebooks and maps in the apartment showed us the best places to eat and where all the local markets were located. She also said we could call her anytime if we needed help. We did not need to call however we greatly appreciated the offer. The Via del Pratello is a lively street lined with a good selection of restaurants, cafes and bars. We ate out several times on the Via del Pratello and had some delicious, reasonably priced meals. If you prefer to do your own cooking there a modern, well stocked Coop supermarket at one end of the street (2 minute walk) and a convenient taxi rank at the other. Despite being on a busy street the apartment is located in a traditional courtyard so it is very secure and is quiet at night.The main square, old town and shopping streets are around a 10 minute walk from the apartment. I give this apartment a 5 star rating and would definitely rent it again.

We arrived at Pratello Gardens apartment at 11.00pm and were greeted by Giulia- our most pleasant and helpful host. Giulia took the time to give us all the inside track on the area and recommendations. The area is busy with restaurants and bars with a great atmosphere, however because the Pratello Gardens apartment is at the back of the apartment block, there is no noise or disturbance whatsoever, so we had all of the advantages of being in a "happening" district without any downside. Central Bologna is only a few minutes walk away. The apartment was spacious with good facilities - we needed the central heating some of the time and it was great, and there was always plenty of hot water. The private garden just off the apartment was a bonus. My wife and I are happy to highly recommend Pratello Gardens in Bologna for a lovely vacation.

We have just returned from an amazing trip to Bologna made all the better for the perfect accommodation at Pratello Gardens. The property is very easy to reach from the train station & is in a great location. Giulia was helpful from the first email enquiry we made and was full of great information on the local area when we arrived. The apartment has guide books & maps, well equipped kitchen (not that we cooked while we were there!) and so much space! The apartment gets no sun so offers an escape from the hot sunny days if needed!! The street outside was always lively, with plenty places to choose from to eat/drink. But it was peacefully quite inside the apartment. It was only a short walk to Piazza Maggiore, Due Torri and is also on the right side of town to walk to San Luca (a challenging, but fun, 5 mile round walk!).
