Charming little hotel nested in a well maintained garden. Right on the public beach. Big and clean rooms. Staff very nice and helpful. Good value for money !

Its value for money, very neat little resort. lot of rubbish on the beach making swimming in the sea not overly pleasant. It is a bit away from main attractions so you will need transport if you want to look around the island. Get for a few days relaxation on the beach

We visited Coco Palm Resort a few years ago and had a very positive experience. The resort was still being developed at the time, but it already offered great food, friendly staff, and a beautiful beach with calm, inviting waters. With a few weeks free for a holiday, we decided to return, hoping it would be even better. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a smiling receptionist who offered us a welcome drink. After completing the check-in formalities, she personally escorted us to our room through the gardens. The gardens had matured beautifully and looked absolutely magnificent. Our room had a charming old-world style — it felt spacious, unique, and surprisingly pleasant, though it was clearly in need of some refurbishment. As we arrived in the late afternoon, we headed straight to the restaurant for a light lunch. The menu was presented in old plastic sleeves and looked somewhat dated. We ordered chicken wings and an Asian dish. The wings were noticeably small, but since it was only a snack, it wasn’t a major issue. That evening, we returned for dinner. The restaurant was very quiet, almost empty. The menu was heavily skewed towards generic Asian dishes, with only one or two items that could be described as Vietnamese. We both had drinks from the bar. Overall, the food was average — nothing special — and the prices felt quite high, even for a resort. The next morning, we tried the breakfast buffet. Surprisingly, there was no tea available, but the selection was otherwise standard: juices, fresh fruit, eggs, cooked items, bread, and preserves. The flatbread was a little stale, though it was intended to be toasted. Once again, the restaurant felt noticeably quiet, even though we arrived relatively early. Over the following days, we settled into a relaxed routine — spending long hours enjoying the warm sea and sunshine. However, we quickly grew tired of the dinner menu, as the choices were very limited. On the third day, we decided to try a highly recommended restaurant just 300–400 metres up the road. The difference was striking. The menu was extensive, with far more authentic Vietnamese options, the food was excellent, and the prices were significantly lower — even the beer was about 30% cheaper. From that point on, we made it our regular dinner spot. While the beach and sea remained enjoyable for the first few days, breakfast became increasingly disappointing. The selection barely changed from day to day, with only minor variations that soon repeated. We also noticed that some items appeared to be simply reheated from previous servings. The real turning point came around day 7 or 8. After breakfast, as usual, we went into the sea, only to find ourselves swimming among floating rubbish — plastic bags, sheets, cups, fishing nets, and lines. That morning, tourists ended up collecting around twenty large bags of debris from the water and beach. It was only in the afternoon that a resort staff member finally moved the collected rubbish away. Although slightly better on following days, the beach cleaning still started after guests had already been swimming for some time. We felt it should have been done early each morning, before swimmers arrived. By this stage, we had largely lost interest in the resort and were simply counting down the days until we could head home. Summary of Coco Palm Resort Gardens Mature, lush, and magnificent — easily one of the highlights of the resort. Well worth spending time exploring. Room Spacious and full of old-world character. It needed some TLC (a fresh coat of paint and minor maintenance), but it was still comfortable and charming. Staff Generally polite but seemed disengaged. Many gave the impression they were simply doing a job. A few more genuine smiles and warmth would have made a significant difference. Restaurant & Bar Very little atmosphere — often quiet or empty.
