The accommodation was basic, but at a good price.

It all seemed fine to me.

The location is amazing! The mountains are so close, and in the winter, the blanket of snow over everything is mesmerising. It is positioned in a great apot to visit both Otaru and Sapporo. The train ride to Otaru is amazing with great ocean views. The room was not cold in the winter with the heater that you can use and the facilities were all very clean and well maintained.

Like all places in Japan, the walls are very thin. Most of the time, everyone realises this and is very quiet in the rooms so as not to disturb others. We had a very loud chinese couple next door who spoke very loudly into the small hours of the night and also had loud sex next door. Since we had neighbours like this, it was a little uncomfortable trying to sleep at night. This is the fault of the other patrons rather than the accommodation. If you stay here, please be mindful of the noise you are making as people can hear every word you say at a normal volume.
