Disappointing experience despite a few positives

To be fair, there were some good things about this place. The location is truly excellent — very central and convenient. The shared areas like the bathroom and corridors were kept clean, and the staff were generally friendly. The owner, Maria, replied to messages quickly and gave detailed information before arrival.

However, there are several serious issues that other reviews don’t mention clearly, and they really affected our stay. The building might be historic, but its condition is very poor. The windows and shutters are in terrible shape — old, damaged, and in desperate need of repair. Our window didn’t even close properly, which made it noisy and uncomfortable at night. Inside the room, there was no proper place to sit and eat — no table or chairs, only the bed. The microwave and fridge were not even in the room, but in the hallway, which was very inconvenient. The dishes and utensils provided were all dirty and impossible to use. What disappointed us most was the attitude at the end of our stay. After a week, Maria complained that the bed linen was dirty and that we hadn’t cleaned the room ourselves — something that no guest should be expected to do in a rental accommodation. We left the place tidy and took photos and videos of the clean room and the condition of the windows to avoid any misunderstanding. We also left exactly at 11:30, but Maria kept messaging us from 2 p.m. onward insisting that everything had been fine before, which felt unnecessary and unpleasant. There is no proper closet for storing and hanging things. And when I tried to close the window, which didn't work, the picture that was hanging under the windows fell down and behind it was a huge hole In summary, while the location and communication were good, the overall condition of the property, the lack of basic comfort, and the unpleasant attitude at the end of the stay made this a very disappointing experience. I would not stay here again, and I cannot recommend it until serious repairs and improvements are made. Unfortunately, you can't upload many photos to your review on booking.com, otherwise I would have uploaded everything that's going on there

Great location and friendly host

I had a very good stay for 5 nights! The host is super friendly and willing to help you on Whatsapp (quick response). She also gave us tips for places to visit. The location is perfect! Near the beach (through the tunne) and the popular areas of the city center. Self check in was easy and beds were ok

Perfectly safe place to stay being a solo traveller. I absolutely loved the fact that you are so close to the parks & the historic centers. Not once did I feel anxious or isolated. A huge thumbs up. Maria, the owner, was very reassuring about any questions. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

budget but noisy room in a central location

We stayed for 2 nights right after our flight into Malaga and then 1 night at the end of our Andalucia tour. It’s located on the 3rd floor of a historic building. The location is ideal, in the Plaza del Teatro Cervantes, a block away from plaza de Merced, 5’ walk from cathedral, 10’ from calle Larios and 25’ from the top of Gibralfaro. Parking is limited in the historic center so probably not a good idea to rent a car here. The airport bus stops 15’ walk away. From the bus station we took a local bus that stops 5’ walk away from the room. There’s a large super market 50 meters away and there are plenty of tapa bars, café and restaurants around. It’s actually a big old apartment with four rooms and shared bathroom. We had a double room (65e per night) with shared bathroom/toilet. There’s no common area and no kitchen apart from a small storage room where there is a fridge and over it a microwave, some plates/cultery and a boiler for coffee (but with so many cheap café spots in the area you wont need or want to stay inside anyway). The first two nights we had room number 3, although simple, it was spacious enough and had a large widow for light and air. There was no TV or A/C. When we returned some days later we got room number 1, which was way smaller and there was no window for natural light/air apart from a small window facing the shaft and unfortunately the bathroom’s window. There was no TV or A/C. The bathroom was spacious and fully equipped with shower gel, soap and shampoo but housing the toilet in one room was a big problem as you may have to wait for long time when someone else is using the bathroom. All the areas were super clean. Wi-Fi:strong signal service/staff: we didn’t meet anyone through out our stay but the super friendly owner was in constant contact with us through messages providing help. She also gave us detailed information of how to get the keys (you get them from a lock box 300meters away from the building)

The rooms are basic but it’s ok for its price so don’t expect luxury staying (better pillows would be a nice improvement though, along with electricity sockets by both sides of bed(room 1 had only on one side). Light switches are outside the rooms which will cause some funny moments during your stay. But the main problem is the noise, old wooden doors, ancient door locks, thin walls, you just hope the other rooms will be quiet. Unfortunately the rooms that face the street may have light during the day but they are going to be noisy through out the night as the nightlife never really stops in the area (without earplugs you wont have a proper sleep) Room number 1 was much quieter as it is located on the back side but in this case you will wake up every time someone is using the bathroom/toilet :)

Cheap but not worth it.

Location is definitely a 10/10 — right in the heart of the city and close to all the main tourist attractions, which was perfect.

That said, we did have a bit of difficulty finding the key safe, even with the detailed WhatsApp instructions, as it was located on a different street rather than directly next to the apartment building; as we were tired it seemed like a labirint to get to our place. Although it was just a one-night stay, unfortunately we couldn’t sleep at all due to significant noise from outside — loud conversations continued until around 5am, and delivery trucks for the nearby supermarket started early in the morning. This could likely be improved with upgraded window frames, as the current ones seem to be original and don’t block much sound. Additionally, the bathroom and bedroom doors are quite old and creaky, which added to the disturbance during the night. It's a shame, because the apartment has great potential — with just a few refurbishments, especially soundproof windows and quieter door fittings, the guest experience could be greatly improved. The location truly is fantastic, and with a bit of updating, this place could easily become a top choice in the area.

Perfect location, nice room, but poor sleep due to outside noise

The room and the bathroom were quite nice, and the bed was comfortable. The location is perfect - very close to the city center and not far from the sea. It was easy to get the keys and check in.

The main disturbance was the noise from the street that lasted throughout the whole night. Even with a closed balcony door we could hear it and it highly affected our sleep. There were screaming people from the nearby bars, then garbage trucks, and then - trucks coming and loading off products for the big supermarket across the street. I would not recommend staying here without ear plugs.

Interessant, komisch, gut.

Ideale Lage. Historisches Haus, fantastisches Treppenhaus.

Bei Buchung habe ich es nicht verstanden, dass ich ein Zimmer mit GEMEINSCHAFTSBAD resrerviere. Spaeter habe ich es noch ein Mal ueberprueft - ein Zimmer in der Werbung ist deutslich als Zimmer mit GEMEINSCHAFTSBAD markiert. Unser Zimmer hiess "Zimmer mit Balkon". So war ich sicher, dass ich ein Hotelzimmer, oder ganze Wohnung mit eigenem Badezimmer reserviere. Und ueberraschend war die Story mit dem Schluesselbox, der sich 400 Meter weit von dem Haus befindet. Es ist komisch in der Nacht mit dem Taxi zum Haus zu kommen, dann nach dem Schluessel gehen, dann zurueck, und das alles mit dem Koffer. Diese "Logik" kann ich bis jetzt nicht begreifen.

Maravillosa la experiencia

La casa es estupenda. Está ubicada en frente del Teatro Cervantes. Una zona maravillosa. La habitación donde yo estuve alojada era preciosa y muy cómoda. Y desde luego Mariví, la dueña, una persona atenta, amable, educada, y disponible en todo momento.

Excelente opción en Málaga, la ubicación es perfecta, en pleno centro de la ciudad, se puede ir a todas partes andando. El edificio en el que se encuentra el piso es histórico y tiene un encanto especial. Mi habitación tenía todo lo necesario y estaba muy limpia, el baño compartido estaba SIEMPRE muy limpio también. La dueña de la casa es muy amable y dispuesta a ayudar en cualquier momento a través de WhatsApp. ¡Repetiría sin dudar!

Najgorszy pobyt w życiu. Okropne miejsce

UNIKAJ TEGO MIEJSCA, JAK OGNIA! Niestety nie jesteśmy w stanie powiedzieć ani jednego dobrego słowa o tym obiekcie. Już na początku pojawił się problem. Zmęczeni po podróży musieliśmy szukać skrzynki z kluczem kilka uliczek dalej. W końcu udało się odebrać klucz i trafić do mieszkania, niestety panował w nim specyficzny brzydki zapach, starości, wilgoci. Było też bardzo zimno. Pokój był dużo mniejszy, niż wydawało się na zdjęciach, na pewno nie miał 17m2, ani nawet 10m2. Był tylko mały stoliczek, dwa łóżka, szafka. I tak mieliśmy szczęście, bo w mieszkaniu jest pokój nr 1, który nie ma okien!!! I łączy się okienkiem z łazienką, co jest już szczytem, aby coś takiego udostępniać gościom. Stare drzwi i okna powodują ogólny hałas. W nocy hałas z ulicy do rana 3.00-4.00, gdy ludzie imrezują, potem sprzątanie ulicy, huk tłuczonego szkła, ciężarówki do sklepu. Liczyliśmy się z tym, że to centrum, ale aż takiego hałasu i fatalnych okien się nie spodziewaliśmy. Pani właścicielka szczyci się, że to zabytek. Według nas ten zabytek nie nadaje się do wynajmu. W dodatku w mieszkaniu jest 5 pokoi, z czego 3 wynajmowane, a 2 zamieszkałe przez właścicielkę i inne osoby na stałe. WSZYSCY, ZARÓWNO GOŚCIE, JAK I WŁAŚCICIELKA ORAZ INNI DOMOWNICY KORZYSTAJĄ Z JEDNEJ I TEJ SAMEJ ŁAZIENKI. Kolejka cały czas. Czekanie po 20-30 minut. Hałas przy otwieraniu i zamykaniu drzwi, branie prysznica słychać w całym mieszkaniu. Już lepiej byłoby spać w hostelu w pokoju wieloosobowym, przynajmniej łatwiejszy dostęp do łazienki. Poza tym prywatności w tym obiekcie nie było żadnej. Pierwszej nocy, zmęczeni poszliśmy szybko spać. Obudził nas hałas. Głośne rozmowy, śmiech, stukot szpilek, kąpiel w środku nocy. Jednak wiedzieliśmy na co się piszemy, wynajmując takie miejsce i nie robiliśmy z tego afery. Niestety ostatniego dnia, Pani właścicielka, która mieszka w obiekcie, zaatakowała nas poprzez wiadomości na booking, że nie szanujemy zasad panujących w jej domu.

Super um Málaga zu entdecken

Die Unterkunft liegt in der Altstadt in einem schönen alten Gebäude. Alles ist fußläufig erreichbar. Das Zimmer ist ausreichend groß und praktisch eingerichtet. Wir hatten auch einen kleinen Balkon. Die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich und gibt exakte Anweisungen wie man in die Wohnung kommt. Das war sehr gut, da wir so sehr flexibel hinsichtlich der Ankunftszeit waren. Es gibt einen Kühlschrank, eine Mikrowelle und einen Wasserkocher zur allgemeinen Nutzung.

Die Straßenreinigung und Müllabfuhr kommt täglich 6Uhr. Da die Fenster nur Einfachglas haben und nicht komplett schließen, ist es für 15min sehr laut.

Ubicado a metros del Teatro Cervantes, la casa natal de Picasso y en general de todas las atracciones. La habitación es espaciosa y tiene un par de ventanas. La cama y las sábanas inmaculadas.

Fue complicado recoger las llaves en otra dirección, y no había una cocina donde preparar algo. La salida era muy temprano.

Fijne slaap verblijf!

Het beviel me het meest dat alles schoon was en het werd goed schoongehouden. De locatie is perfect! De vrouw des huizes onderhield ons contact goed en ze was erg betrokken. Het bed was heerlijk,lekker geslapen daar en ook het bed was schoon. Alles was fijn! Als ik weer naar Malaga ga dan ga ik zeker terug naar dit fijne verblijf!

No me gustó pero me tuve que aguantar.

No estaba limpio y olía mal. Tuve que limpiar yo. Debajo de la cama había suciedad y polvo. Y luego pedí que me cambiaran las sábanas xq estaban sucias y tenían pelos. No me sentí a gusto a decir verdad. Las toallas ni las utilice porque también olían mal. Mucha limpieza no hay aunque la dueña diga que limpia y que tiene montones de lejias. (Que por cierto no había). Y en todas las habitaciones pasaba igual x lo que pregunte a ver si solo era en la mía... Pues no🙄 la última foto es cuando me cambiaron las sábanas. Pero no tardaron ni media hora en hacer todo. Porque estuve al tanto de todo.

Tutto! Gentilezza della proprietà, posizione e pulizia. Appartamento davvero molto bello in pieno centro storico. Camera grande e spaziosa e letto comodissimo! Ritornerei senz’altro! Grazie.

L’unica pecca è il rumore notturno proveniente dalla zona circostante l’edificio, questa è l’unica cosa che mi ha messa alla prova non essendo abituata al caos di un centro città.

Posizione centralissima veramente ottima, la titolare molto gentile e premurosa, la struttura è fondamentalmente un alloggio suddiviso in varie stanze, bagno pulitissimo, pur essendo in centro nessun rumore

La stanza aveva una piccola finestra che dava su un muro e sulla finestra del bagno. La notte purtroppo una persona è andata in bagno ed ha lasciato la luce accesa, quindi non essendoci una tenda oscurante avevo molta luce in stanza finché non sono scesa ed andata a spegnere io la luce. La luce della stanza è esterna, bisogna accendere la lampada sul comodino e spegnere la luce prima di chiudere la stanza...un po' scomodo. La maniglia della porta quasi smontata, è da mettere a posto.

Świetne miejsce pod względem lokalizacji, właścicielka przemiła, świetne miejsce, ale tylko jeśli wynajmujecie duży pokó

Świetna lokalizacja, samo centrum, blisko do wszystkich restauracji, zaraz obok duży supermarket, na plażę spacerkiem około 15-20 minut. Łazienka czysta, często sprzątana. Właścicielka bardzo miła, dająca wskazówki co zobaczyć i gdzie zjeść :)

Wynajęliśmy mały pokój bez balkonu, ponieważ tylko ten został w ofercie. Na krótki okres czasu byłby w porządku, ale byliśmy 9 dni i w tym pokoju nie ma naturalnego światła, jest malutkie okno które wychodzi na środkowa, zamkniętą część budynku. Było bardzo ciasno. Jeśli chcecie rezerwować to polecam pozostałe pokoje, która wychodzą na inną stronę budynku i mają duże okna i balkon :)

L’ emplacement centre ville entrée immeuble jolie et accès raccourcis à la plage.

Mensonge une chambre placard 9m2 pas choisie à l entrée avec micro fenêtre sur cours donnants sur les toilettes. Odeurs moisis et bruits de Wc. salissures portes serrures cassées. mots demandant de ne pas utiliser l eau et surtout harcèlement pour que l on fasse le nettoyage. Sceau serpillière avec eau croupie ! Frigo et deux tasses dans un placard.

Muy amable la atención de la dueña. Excelente ubicación, prácticamente al frente del teatro más conocido de la ciudad y a media cuadra de la casa de Picasso.

Buena opción económica para alojarte en el centro de Málaga

La dueña es muy amable y está muy pendiente de lo que puedas necesitar. Me gustó mucho que hubiese un tendedero en la habitación, me fue muy útil, así como que hubiera dos sombrillas en la casa. En general el apartamento está bien, el baño estaba muy limpio

La ventana de mi habitación estaba en muy mal estado, ya se lo dije a la dueña, deberían cambiarla porque estaba rota y se filtraba luz, y no cerraba bien.

W pokoju było bardzo brudno, warstwa kurzu na meblach i podłodze. Mieszkanie jest w zabytkowej kamienicy, więc jest stare i ma charakterystyczny zapach staroci. W nocy nie dało się spać przez gorąco (tylko wiatrak w pokoju) i hałasy z ulicy (opróżnianie śmieci w środku nocy i krzyki wracających z imprez ludzi). Kuchnia to tylko lodówka w przedsionku i mikrofala, były naczynia, ale nawet nie byłoby gdzie ich umyć.

Расположение очень удобное. Подробная и понятная инструкция по заселению. Номер нам понравился - с балконом и большим окном и в номере было много воздуха. Очень чисто - и в номере и в общей ванной. Порадовали микроволновка и чайник (пусть и в кладовке). Мы приехали поздно, а уехали рано и возможность выпить чаю в номере была очень кстати. И самое ценное -постоянная связь с хозяином. У нас при заселении возникла небольшая путаница. Связались с хозяином и вопрос был мгновенно решен )))

Ночью было слышно расходящихся из кафе людей, но это плата за проживание в центре.
