It’s the best Hostel I have ever stayed at. Feels Like a 3-4 Star Hotel - nice Pool are, Beach Bar and Perfect Location! Best Spot on the Island - will always come back!

Lots of useful facilities, especially a clean, well-stocked communal kitchen. Dive center and workspace. Very friendly guests.

It’s less than a 10 mins. walk from the ferry terminal to the hostel, and just a few minutes’ walk to markets, restaurants, and North Beach. The staff is friendly and always working hard, and they make sure the facilities stay clean. The only downside is that they need to better enforce quiet hours, as some guests still seem to be partying in their rooms until 3 a.m.

My recent stay at Selina Hostel left much to be desired, with numerous issues detracting from what should have been a pleasant experience. It became clear that SELINA capitalizes on selling an image and values that appeal to social media admiration, yet the actual experience falls far short of the price tag. Out of the four breakfast options one was unavailable for our entire stay and portions are way too small. And apparently if you miss the narrow breakfast window until 9.30am (even on weekends), you'll be charged for it. This, coupled with the lack of fruit options, makes the breakfast add-on not worth the additional cost. The air conditioning in our room did not only drip onto our bed every night, but it occasionally turned into a stream of water. The staff's solution? Merely handing us an extra towel. Combined with the absence of hot water in the evenings and poor air circulation, these issues contributed to a pervasive musty odor throughout the room. During our stay, the WiFi was down for several hours one evening. When we brought this to the staff's attention, they offered no solution, merely acknowledging the issue. Reliable internet is essential for many travelers, particularly if you work remotely. The sun chairs around the pool and outdoor area were not complimentary but required an additional fee which is pretty ridiculous, especially considering the hostel's premium branding. Additionally, the consistent lack of drinking water in both the coworking space and the common kitchen added unnecessary inconvenience to our stay. The staff's unfriendliness, particulary of the crew at Marea bar - with the exception of a two nice guys that were in charge of breakfast - further marred our experience. Guests were often made to feel like a bother, as the staff seemed more interested in their own enjoyment rather than catering to the needs of those staying at the hostel. One particularly concerning incident occurred when retrieving our ID, which we had provided as a deposit. Rather than verifying its authenticity, the staff allowed us to select one seemingly at random from their stash, raising serious concerns about the hostel's security protocols. The only redeeming aspect of the hostel is its amazing pool and outdoor area. The design is stunning, evoking a tropical wonderland that provides a brief escape from the hostel's myriad shortcomings. Additionally, the community of travelers you can meet here is a great part of the experience, adding some value to the stay. In summary, our experience at this supposed "Premium Hostel" fell far short of expectations. Selina clearly capitalizes on selling an appealing lifestyle, but the actual experience does not align with the price.
