Please note that this is a lively downtown area. It’s not the place for those seeking a quiet retreat. You may hear people walking by at night from the nearby bars, and there may occasionally be homeless individuals passing by. However, there are no encampments nearby. Our building is old and, despite extensive renovations, the walls are still thin, so sound can travel.

Swedish house was a cute and perfectly sized apartment for me and my husband. We loved that we were so conveniently located to many great places to eat and to lovely parks and markets to enjoy. We walked most everywhere but the bus and ferry were also just steps away when needed. The only draw backs were the road noise right outside the bedroom window and the lack of A/C (an oversight made when booking as its not a listed feature). It was hot in the apartment when we arrived but cooled as the temperature dropped with the rainy weather. Luckily it was a cooler weekend so the inside temp was good with the windows left open. Overall we were happy with our stay at the Swedish house and we had an amazing time touring Dartmouth and Halifax. The whole weekend ended with an amazing performance from The Killers at the Halifax Music Fest.
