Very nice host. Suleiman and his wife are terrific people and very accommodating.

The location is less than ideal. There was also loud music all night near the house on several days which made sleeping difficult. Rates for extra services such as laundry, should be clearly communicated ahead of time.

Excellent value for money. Its a very fancy looking, well appointed house in a rather run-down looking neighbourhood. The rooms were fine, and comfortable. The kitchen is well kitted out. The breakfast we were provided with was was reasonable (fruit, bread, boiled eggs, tea). The owner arranged a (paid) tour of Arusha for us on our last morning, as our flight was only in the afternoon.

Poor explanation of how the heating system works - took a while for us to work out how to get hot water. There isn't anyone always on site to answer these sort of questions. Poor explanation of how the dinner menu worked. We thought we could each order a dish but it then turned out you needed at least 5 people to order the same item. Both of the above could be addressed quite easily by having a set of instructions / information leaflet for guests, and this is probably the main suggestion. The bathrooms are strangely designed - the shower is not separated from the toilet area by a curtain or wall or anything. One of the bathrooms is quite small so if you showered there you would almost certainly wind up soaking the toilet seat. Its in a very poorly developed area of town, and not really feasible to go out for a walk at night. Not so much a safety concern, but I imagine getting lost very easily in the windy, unmarked roads, and there's not much to see / do in the area anyway. The roads to get to the house are in a poor state.
