Excellent accommodation overlooking Rizal Park, and close to Intramuros. Hosts friendly and helpful. Being next to LRT is a significant boon and will only become better as the network expands over the coming years. Grab is the easiest option to go anywhere in the city, and to take you to tour pickup points.
Every driver and local Filipina told me not to go out and walk around at night which made doing so feel a bit intimidating, since by the evening almost all the tourists have left the area, and there is obvious poverty on the streets. No bad experiences ambling around however, and there is a very nice waterside restaurant North of Rizal Park.
