Blue Diamond-seaview & free park

Big apartment. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, huge living room, fully equipped specious kitchen. Balcony overviewing the ocean. Bus stop just across the street. Everything is clean and new.

The location of this apartment is perfect for the sea view and easy access to Formosa beach and the sea promenade to the Lido. The apartment itself is on the first floor. It's modern, spacious and in superb decorative order. The kitchen is well equipped for a holiday rental, and we appreciated the washing machine. The WiFi was good in the living space but signal not so good in the main bedroom. The bed was comfortable. The ensuite had a brilliant, large shower with plenty of hot water. There is an uncovered balcony off the bedroom which is lovely when the sun shines. The main balcony has been covered in but has lots of floor to ceiling sliding windows so you can open up a lot of them for a more outside feel, but it's not for sunbathing. If you're looking for a sunbathing space, there isn't really one as the bedroom balcony is only small. TV has American channels in English. Close to several restaurants and cafes, two supermarkets, The Forum shopping Centre. About an hour or more walk to the centre of Funchal, but we knew this and were happy with the location.

The host was responsive when we first booked, but I had asked a question and she said she would get back to me. The day before arriving, I asked the same question again and was again told she would get back to me, and once again, she did not. Not a major issue, so not a huge concern, and we spoke to the person checking us in instead. The location is great, but.... There is a bus stop right outside on either side of the road, and when the windows are open, it's relatively noisy when they go past. There is no air conditioning at the apartment but there are fans provided in both bedrooms. We stayed in December so it wasn't too hot. Had it been, I think it might have been a problem. Given the road noise, it was impossible to sleep with the windows open (we tried having the window open in the other bedroom and the doors open to allow air flow, it was so noisy I got up in the early hours to close it again). The other problem is that there are neighbours above who have two dogs - not hugely noisy, unless they have a mad run around or decide to bark for half hour continuously. We heard them several times during our five day stay. Talking of noise, you probably won't believe me, but there's a group of wild chickens and a rooster that live on the other side of the road and the rooster likes to make a lot of noise every morning about 5am (not too bad with the windows closed). Parking is a problem. They say there is free parking with this apartment, but unless you have a VERY small car, there's no way you're getting it in the parking space thanks to a pillar which blocks the entrance to the space. Street parking is possible close by if you can find a space. Again, in December, we did manage to find a space that we didn't have to pay for. In high season, you might struggle. It might sound like there were quite a few problems, but this is a nice apartment and we did really like staying there. I'll miss seeing that amazing view every day.

Der einzige negative Punkt ist die Parkmöglichkeit. In die Garage bzw. den Tiefgaragen-Platz passt wirklich nur ein Kleinstwagen. Wir haben dann außerhalb geparkt, was allerdings sehr schwierig ist, da es fast keine (erlaubten) Parkplätze gibt.

Außergewöhnliche Wohnung, sehr gut ausgestattet, zwei Bäder, zwei Schlafzimmer, MEGA Meerblick und die perfekte Lage, um Ausflüge zu machen oder in die Stadt zu kommen, Restaurants und Shoppingcenter in Laufweite. Sehr sauber und ein toller Service. Komme sicher wieder.
