Green Island Homestay Riverside

The food was delicious, the family were friendly and so welcoming and warm. Saheer was there for every request, arrangement of taxi, boat ride, information. And lovely to chat to. The setting is wonderful - right on the banks of the lake, watching the sunrise on the calm waters, relaxing in the hammock and a walk to the beach for sunset. Perfect place to unwind after the long flight.

We had a really nice stay with Saheer and his family. The place is really chill and beautiful, surrounded by a very nice nature and easy to reach Saheer and his family hosted us as if we were family, providing us a warm welcome and extremely good typical Kerala food. They also helped us continue our journey by finding a driver and an open pharmacy, despite the busy moment of Onam. Even though we got rain all the time and we got sick, we had a perfect stay :) We would not only recommend but also come back in the future.

Ici vous vivez avec la famille adorable de la maison. L’environnement est très reposant, vu sur la rivière et repas pris à côté de la rivière. Petit-déjeuner et dîner pris sur place, c’est excellent ! C’est la grand-mère qui cuisine, a vous de dire ce que vous souhaitez tester! Nous avons aussi fait une balade sur la rivière avec le propriétaire, départ directement du ponton de la maison. Facilité pour organiser les transports. Étape qui invite à prendre le temps

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Riverside Paradise – Exceptional Hospitality! Our stay here was nothing short of magical, largely thanks to the incredible host, Faiz, and his wonderful family. From the moment we arrived, Faiz went entirely above and beyond expectations to ensure we had the perfect vacation. He was an absolute lifesaver with logistics—arranging our cabs, guiding us to the most prominent local sightseeing spots, and even personally sourcing authentic Kerala spices for us to take home. 🍽️ A Culinary Masterclass (Better than Michelin Stars!) The food alone is worth traveling for. Faiz’s mother is an absolute culinary genius—honestly, her cooking is way better than a seven-star Michelin chef! Every meal was a celebration of local delights. We were treated to: Perfectly prepared mussels Rich, authentic Malabar Biryani Fluffy Puttu and flaky Malabar Parotta A divine local mango chutney Endless cups of refreshing black tea, served by Auntie at any time we asked, always with the warmest smile. Kid-Friendly Note: Traveling with little ones can be stressful, but the food here is incredibly kid-friendly. My 3-year-old son was absolutely thrilled with both the place and the meals! 🗺️ Serene Views & Unbeatable Activities The property itself is nestled in paradise. The riverside view is incredibly serene, looking out at a lush green island just a stone’s throw away. The experiences curated by Faiz really set this place apart: Private Boat Ride & Mangroves: Faiz personally took my family out for an unforgettable boat ride to experience the local mangroves. Floating Restaurant: Dining on the river at the floating restaurant was a superlative experience we will never forget. If you are looking for authentic Kerala hospitality, breathtaking views, and food that will spoil you for life, look no further. We left with full stomachs, happy hearts, and beautiful memories.
