Cormorant Cottage

The location was fantastic ... right in the middle of the bustling town, very close to the harbour and beaches and yet also very quiet as it was located on a little side alley. You could not wish for a better spot. The cottage was very well appointed and comfortable.

The en suite bathroom upstairs was impossibly small!

The property is very nice. With all of the necessary items required. Kitted out kitchen with almost all utensils. However if you were to stay with six people, like the property is set up for, you will require more cutlery. There were not enough knives and forks for six. The location of the property is absolutely ideal for being in the centre of St Ives, however that does come at a cost to your sleep. Early morning bin men/bottle bins being collected and emptied right outside your window from the neighbouring Ardor restaurant. Also the staff from the same restaurant spend A LOT of time smoking/vaping/chatting very loudly extremely late into the night (1am) in the very echoey alley way with it literally outside your bedroom window.

As documented on previously. Extremely interrupted sleep and there is absolutely no sea view. *** Please book with caution, especially if you are booking through booking.com there no sea view at all, from any part of the house. You may see a sliver of blue water if you look through the windows of the neighbouring properties, but that’s only if you really use your imagination and squint. Despite it being listed as having a sea view. There were ALOT of lightbulbs out in most of the lamps. We actually replaced them ourselves. The blinds that were mentioned in the review in October last year are still broken in both main bedrooms. The cleanliness of the property overall was good. But the light switches and bedroom wall in the second bedroom require some attention. The property management/owner doesn’t respond when you send messages. I asked if we could possibly have a new fan as the one left in the property had a broken blade and made a horrendous noise when on. As good as the location is, we have learnt a valuable lesson and won’t ever stay this central again due to the sheer amount of noise all night.
