Luxury Penthouse Overlooking the Thames

Location was ideal, close to the Thames and Borough Markets. Apartment was clean, tidy, spacious and ideal for our purpose. Good size beds and loads of clean towels available. Really quiet area whilst adjacent to Borough Markets

We did not arrive until after 6.00pm on day one and had to go to a nearby newsagent to get the keys, not actually a problem. Likely more secure that a keybox

The location was great, right near the Thames and easy to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, The Tate Modern, London and Tower Bridge, etc. The main room is spacious and light filled. The two full bathrooms were very nice. There was a nespresso machine and about 6 pods (we were two people there for six days), an assortment of black and green tea, dishwasher with two dishwasher cubes, washing machine/dryer combo with 2 pods. If you are from the US and not used to the combo washer/dryer, you may want to ask them to explain how it works. Plenty of space for six people but not many dishes.

The apartment was very warm. We had the heat turned as low as we could get it, but we could never really get any room lower than 75. We opened the one window in each room that opened, but it didn't really help because we couldn't leave them open when we weren't there (no screens). The mattress pad and sheet over the mattress were not the right size. When we notified the company, we were given a correct sized sheet but not a mattress pad. The carpet in the bedroom was in bad shape (and in the building hallway--the ceiling in the building hallway was literally falling down). We weren't told until the day before departure that we needed to return the key to a place .5m from the apartment--major inconvenience especially since we didn't expect it (someone met us at the unit when we arrived). There was no place to hang wet coats (unless we put them in the bedroom closets) or put wet shoes (no door mat), strange in a place that is as wet as London. If you are from the US, note that there is no kleenex, no wash cloths and no top sheet (and when I asked about the top sheet, they said I'd have to pay extra for that).

Exceptional location for a week of exploring London with kids. The neighborhood is quiet at night and bustling during the day which was perfect. Immediate access to the Thames riverfront promenade is pretty much ideal. The nicely designed and updated apartment itself fit our party of 6 well.

The property management running this seems to have a different interpretation of what "luxury" means. We rented for a week yet this place was stocked as minimally as possible. Basic things like toilet paper, paper towels were in short supply and it was a strange hassle for a $$$$ listing to get these very minor items. This isn't a hostel, why cheap out on having an extra blanket and few more towels?
