Honeysuckle Cottage

The cottage was large and comfortable and ideally situated to explore the northern part of the Northumberia coast and countryside. The cottage had everything you would need for a peaceful break, whether for long hikes or shorter rambles. Everywhere is dog friendly so we had some wonderful walks along the coast; around Holy Island, Berwick city walls, and the Hirsel estate and even had a ride on a little railway at Heatherslaw. There was plenty of room to chill out and catch up with some TV on the many channels we didn't expect with a suprise bottle of wine and chocolate left by the hosts. The Blue Bell pub is a few minute walk up the road if you don't fancy cooking but there are loads of other options nearby. There is an enclosed garden (that you share if there is someone in the cottage next door but we had it to ourselves) to let our dog have a run around

Just being picky really, but it should be noted that the cottage is great for two people, but if there had been four of us one couple would have had quite a lot more noise as one bedroom looks out on, and is beside the A697. However you don't really noitce the noise in the rest of the cottage. You have to take a bit of care when turning right as the cottage is on a bend, but other than that it is so handy for everywhere. Also, take your own hairdryer as one isn't provided, but nearly everything else you can think of is.

Honeysuckle cottage was exactly as described and then some. The host Darren is an amazing guy, easy to chat with and super helpful. I could not recommend this enough for anyone wanting some time up in the borders, the size of the rooms are brilliant, Massive bifold doors in the kitchen dinner out on to a dreamy garden. 10/10 across the board, will definitely be going back.
