Little Swattesfield, Eye

We loved, loved, loved the location! Situated in the middle of fields, with nearby woods, it was quiet, peaceful and we were lucky enough to see hares on multiple occasions, a green woodpecker and had a coot family resident on the pond. We loved sitting at the dining table, looking out to the fields and woods across the pond and watching the little coot family, bats and other birds. The bed was super comfy and we slept very well. Kitchen is well equipped (we ate in most nights), virtually brand new cooker and full size fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. Could have done with more cutlery - plenty of plates, bowls, mugs etc, but we kept running out of clean knives, forks and spoons....And you should be on a commission from Global Knives - after ordered a set after using the couple that were there! The 'cave' bathroom was fun, although we didn't use that shower! Our dog enjoyed the garden, although we didn't keep him on a long lead as he is an expert escape artist..... Responsive host when we had a couple of minor issues.

-The door is a little tricky to master. - Some kind of table lamp or standard lamp in the living area would be helpful for those who like reading.

Everything, the amazing fire mostly but all well equipt.

Location is idyllic … quiet and surrounded by fields and trees; lovely decor and sense of history in the building

Nothing major - a few things the owners might consider: - the shower in the ensuite is tricky; we could only use the directional head vs the ceiling unit - no cooling or fans provided - it would be useful to have a small fan for the bedroom (they were available to hire but wouldn’t be hard to offer one?) - back door lock is fiddly as is the lock on the gate …

Great Location - short journey to various places of interest, eg Bury St Edmund (Cathedral & Abbey Garden), Framlingham Castle & village, Ickworth Estate, RSPB Strumpshaw-fen. Very lovely and peaceful country cottage which has been refurbished to a high spec - luxurious bathroom, well equipped kitchen and large log burner in the sitting room. Flexible check in dates.

Small items need replacements, eg toilet brush has broken handle and mop has handle missing. Lack of a hard path leading to the front door. LED lighting in sitting room does not work. House information folder needs updating, eg Wifi address is incorrect, logs for the burner can be obtained much more locally than the suggested garage in Diss, eg village shop in Gislingham or most supermarkets.
