The Space:

Featured in Vogue, The Artanis Villa is a 5,295 square foot desert estate that celebrates 1950s and 60s Hollywood design, its original architectural details preserved and thoughtfully styled. Warm stone, arches, wood beams, tall ceilings and original tilework run throughout, while picture walls, chandeliers and statement décor give each room a story, and huge original doors and windows pour light inside. Five bedrooms, four with ensuite bathrooms plus a half bath, and a yoga studio that doubles as extra sleeping space make it spacious yet cozy, with big rooms for gatherings and quiet corners for reading and rest. Mix something classic at the Sinatra bar and dress for dinner if the mood strikes.

The outdoor space covers 5.2 fully fenced acres. The in-ground, rock-clad pool looks out toward the mountains, and the above-ground hot tub sits beneath open skies, heated and ready when you arrive. The tennis court is ready for a match, and multiple seating areas around the property invite guests to gather, read or take in the scenery. Hammocks sway in the breeze, and the propane fire pit is the place for evenings under the stars. Enjoy outdoor dining and the BBQ, sunrise coffee and sunset conversations, then stay out for the stargazing, breezy evenings and wide-open skies of the high desert.



-Living Area-

The living room is expansive and bright, with high ceilings, large windows and comfortable seating for gathering and conversation. Midcentury Hollywood glamour meets relaxed desert comfort here, whether it is a cozy evening after a day in the park or a slow morning with coffee and desert views. A large smart TV, a record player and a piano cover every mood, and statement furnishings and picture walls celebrate the home's cinematic history. The built-in bar, with an iconic Frank Sinatra mural behind it, is the natural centerpiece for cocktails and music.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The kitchen is generously sized, pairing original cabinetry and vintage tilework with updated appliances. A breakfast bar and a sunlit breakfast nook make casual mornings easy, and the kitchen opens into the large formal dining room, where the table seats 12 for shared meals and long desert dinners. It is fully stocked with cookware and coffee from Joshua Tree Coffee Co, ready for everything from holiday meals to simple breakfasts. Just outside, the outdoor dining area and propane BBQ bring dinner into the open air.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

The home has five bedrooms, four with ensuite bathrooms, each with natural light and midcentury character. The primary bedroom has a king bed and a twin trundle bed, with an ensuite bathroom showing off original tilework. Guest Bedroom 1 and Guest Bedroom 2 each have two queen beds and an ensuite bathroom. Guest Bedroom 3 has one queen bed and an ensuite bathroom, and Guest Bedroom 4 has two twin beds. The yoga studio doubles as an extra sleeping space with a twin trundle bed and two twin rollaway beds, which helps larger groups and families.

In total there is one king bed, five queen beds, six twin beds and two twin rollaway beds. The four ensuite bathrooms and one half bath all keep their original tilework.

The Artanis Villa is in Yucca Valley with easy access to Joshua Tree National Park, known for its otherworldly rock formations, iconic Joshua trees, hiking trails and big sunrises and sunsets. The nearby towns of Joshua Tree, Pioneertown, Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms have an artistic community feel, with boutiques, cafés, local markets and live music. Spend the days on hikes, wellness experiences and art installations, with desert terrain and mountain views stretching toward the San Jacinto Mountains.

► Please avoid using the hot tub right after it has been serviced, while chemical levels are temporarily higher.



-Pool Heating-

Please note that the pool is not heated and relies entirely on the ambient outdoor temperature. As a result, the water temperature will naturally vary with the weather throughout the year.



-Hot Tub Heating-

There is no fee to heat the hot tub, and it is set to 104 degrees prior to your arrival.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

The pool and hot tub are serviced Mondays and Thursdays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.



-Pet Policy-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Wildlife & Safety-

The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

For your security, there are exterior cameras located at the left side gate, the front door and the back patio, which monitor vehicles and occupancy. There are no cameras inside the home or facing any private areas, including the pool and hot tub areas.

Cell phone coverage in the area may be limited or unavailable depending on your carrier. Wi-Fi is available at the property.



-Damage Waiver Policy-

Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
