Lavender Lodge

Secluded but close to Kilmore Quay. Lovely scones, butter and jam/marmalade and some milk was a welcome treat. Very well equipped, even a selection of shower gels.

Lovely quiet area. Lodge is very well equipped and the owner left scones, butter,jam and marmalade as well as milk which was really appreciated.

Location was perfect for what we were doing, the lodge was so comfortable and welcoming,

There were some thoughtful touches by the owners such as welcome scones and a bag for shopping, they are definitely trying to provide and for those who fancy a glamp, it was fine.

Unfortunately during our three night stay it was noisy and we needed a peaceful stay. Others might not mind this but there was loud music from the house the first night when we were trying to sleep and regularly from the car across the road. The children playing and shouting was fun for them but didn't work for us. There was a security light shining directly at the window which also affected our sleep. The location wasn't great. It is halfway between kilmore and kilmore quay and maybe you could spend a few hours on the beach at the quay but that's it. There doesn't seem to be much else around so better to go to the next peninsula over, the hook which was stunning. Because it was self catering we had planned to buy groceries locally but there is only a tiny spar so do your shopping before you arrive. There is a supermarket in Wellingtonbridge.
