伊根えびすや千歳Chitose　

This is an ordinary accommodation in Japan. This is timeout from reality, a most beautiful view included. The minute you sat foot in this fully refurbished Funaya you know you made the right choice. The location is a bit off the center of Ine but it’s super quiet and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

What a unique place and stay. While it seems most of Ine has become quite touristy, staying overnight allowed us a bit of reprieve from the day-trippers. Walking distance to おふくわけ／Ofukuwake Cafe for light eats and some beers, a car is pretty crucial to get to the two grocers/drugstores. As other reviewers said, definitely make reservations for dinner as otherwise most places will be full or closed. Having a dedicated garage I could back into was very nice, and if your vehicle is too big, they have space right across from the Funaya. The below and upper decks were such a treat as we got to watch the sunset and sunrise while swallows and all sorts of birds flew around. Very peaceful and warranted a two-night stay if we had the time.

Beds were ULTRA-firm and while I can pretty much sleep on anything, my partner and friends could not. We stayed at many places but the bed here was harder than some traditional Japanese futons. As with most small towns, locals are HAULING around these streets, so just be weary of walking/pulling out from the parking garage.
