Never again
Relatively clean
Smell of house is unpleasant which got worse the nearer you got to the basement area THE CEILING SMOKE/FIRE DETECTOR HAD BEEN REMOVED FROM THE LIVING ROOM / TOP OF BASEMENT STAIRS AREA - WHICH MUST BE ILLEGAL. No usable dining area. Living room is stark with linoleum type flooring room consisting only of tv/ unit, sofa (with legs removed??) and table lamp with no table to put it on! Nowhere other than floor to put your cup of tea. Peeling wallpaper and water leak stains on ceiling. Stairs both to upper lever and to basement are dangerously steep and have high ‘risers’ of differing heights leading to my fall causing bruising to my arm, not suitable for elderly or children. The basement stairs leading to bedroom and kitchen have no light or widows making it even more dangerous. The kitchen had missing cupboard door/ plinths, which were just left propped up against end of the units, again peeling wallpaper. The integral fridge door had broken away from the external so you had to try to open it without a handle. The double glazing was damaged so you can no longer see through it. The cot supplies had no mattress -I emailed regarding this straight away but received no reply There are missing blinds / laths throughout the house. No window in lower bedroom. Very cold in lower bedroom and kitchen. The ‘goldfish bowl’ of the dining conservatory was at the front of the house. Over 40c degree heat with no blinds or privacy being right on Main Street made it unusable. The bedrooms at the front are straight onto very busy road and had inadequate glazing or curtains so they are very noisy. Although the bedrooms are of a reasonable size there was no ‘dressing’ area eg no sockets, shelf or dressing table near mirrors. On a minor note an information pack on how to put on the heating, WiFi and tv etc would have been useful. I would certainly NOT recommend this property and would question its legality.

It's okay
The house is located in a good area and has a nice backyard, which we enjoyed. However, the property itself is quite old and felt a bit run down.
We noticed a lot of moths getting inside, and the house was not stocked with basics like hand soap in the bathrooms or dish soap in the kitchen. After a long day of traveling, it was inconvenient to have to go out and purchase these items ourselves. There was a moth stuck in my bedroom and I'm terrified of moths. Accessibility was also a challenge — the stairs are extremely steep. The kitchen, one bedroom, and one bathroom are in the basement, which requires going down steep stairs, while the other bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. This made it difficult for my elderly parents and was even a challenge for me at 22. The washer and dryer also didn’t work very well. Overall, the place wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t quite what I expected either. It was still liveable, and I wouldn’t mind staying again if needed, though it wouldn’t be my first choice.
