Charming destination, very rural and close to Heilsmoor, Teufelsmoor and a number of other national parks. Beautiful to hike through. We went in autumn, and encountered barely anyone else, even though it was quite picturesque.
The accommodation was perfectly sized for two people. We came by train via Bremen. From train stop Oldenbüttel, it is an hour walk, or you can wait for a bus and then only walk 30 minutes to the accommodation. Given that walking from the accommodation to any busstop takes 30 minutes, and getting to a hiking path then takes some additional travel time, it is likely more convenient to come by car. Still, public transport is doable.
The host was very helpful and welcoming.
