Mount Pleasant, St Ives

The house was great, we went with friends and there was plenty of room for all if us!!

The cleanliness of the house was very questionable, in one bathroom a razor blade cover had been left, in one of the bedrooms there was a milky bar chocolate wrapper on the floor (this was the room which they said we had damaged the furniture) and the plates/bowels had food still on them in the cupboards, we don't belive that the cleaners did the job they were paid to do. After we left we were told that we had broken some of the furniture but we absolutely did not, it seems to us that it was not cleaned prior to us arriving so the racking on the clothes rail wasn't picked up as broken, we didn't know that the shelf was supposed to be attached and when we left the cleaner must've knocked one of the side tables which only lent again the wall which we were very careful with, but blamed the damage on us, the room was small with not much space around the double bed. When staying make sure you take clear photos of all furniture on your arrival to prove the damage was already there when you arrived and no damage when you left!!!

So many things to like about the property, the location was central and although the hill is steep we were all pretty fit so it wasn’t a problem. The house was well furnished, beautiful bedrooms (extremely comfy beds) very well equipped kitchen and good spacious communal spaces like lounge & dining room. Lovely quality furnishings and the heating was easy to use on the couple of occasions we gave it a quick blast. Please note the good points about the property far outweigh the two negative issues I have raised and didn’t affect our lovely family holiday overall

We were not sent the correct code for the key box and upon arrival at the property we were outside for over an hour in the pouring rain with a 5 month old baby getting soaked & stressed! Tried emailing various contacts, tried phoning various numbers..As it was Sunday we couldn’t get hold of anyone on the office phone number. It’s only when there’s a problem like this that you realise how difficult it is to get hold of someone! Eventually I received a text and a call from someone with the correct key code so we could gain access. She explained that this had happened before :( Also the courtyard garden did not resemble the photos. Despite the weather, we were hoping to use the garden during dry spells. This was not an option as it was grim.
