Coachmans Rest

Comfortable bed, nice shower, access to lovely garden, near the train station, good location in Sandwich, friendly host, croissants for breakfast.

Parking was a bit tricky on arrival and leaving. There was some noise from the road in the evening and morning. A fan would have been good for warm days. Another side plate would have been useful!

Coachman’s Rest was easy to find. It was a short walk from the railway station and close to where other family were staying in the town. It’s on the ground floor and easy to access. Instructions for finding the key were good as was for the key to the gardens. The bathroom is separate to the bedroom which I really like - I’m not a fan of en suites. It’s large and clean with good sized shower and toiletries supplied. Plenty of large thick white towels. Also good shelves for laying out toilet bags etc. There is plenty of storage space in the bedroom, a big comfortable bed with an assortment of hard and soft pillows. Some golf magazines and tourist literature are laid out. Coffee, Tea, croissants, jam sugar, milk and an assortment of cereals in a cupboard above the microwave were much appreciated as was the iron and mini ironing table . I Had a Clean crockery and cutlery available with knives, chopping board and things like kitchen roll and cloths and washing up liquid ( dish soap for the Americans) are available. The location is peaceful though there is a little bit of early morning traffic but I was getting up early anyway. The large gardens at the back were gorgeous with many scented roses and jasmine as well as comfortable garden chairs and tables. Perfect for enjoying a cup of tea or a late afternoon glass of wine. I was lucky with the weather though!

I was a bit confused as to actual address of property - possibly could be clarified. There is limited car parking which may have been good to know about beforehand, but again the host was really helpful.

Comfortable studio on a central location in Sandwich. The list of things not to do was rather long, and took the edge off our enjoyment

Information for access came late, we were already driving there
