Wonderful characterful house with swimming pool

très charmant, belle piscine pour se rafraîchir et terrasse ombragée très apprécié pour les journées de chaleur ! Jolie maison, on a l’impression d’être chez soi ! Et Hélène est très à l’écoute de nos besoins !

tout était parfait

The location was good for exploring the Gorge and it was very quiet. The building is ancient with plenty of character and charm. We were on the ground floor with a lovely terrace & access to the pool( not used) . The kitchen was well equipped with cooking needs and dishes, cutlery etc. The host was responsive by email, we did not meet her in person. We failed to note when booking that WIFI was ONLY available in the public area and not in the interior of the unit or terrace!

It should be noted that the bedrooms are located on the second floor and the stairs are worn & steep . The toilet is located on the ground floor. We were 2 couples in their mid 70s requiring the toilette through the night frequently. We all felt very unsafe descending the stairs at night. (One person slept on the sofa on the ground floor). The railing at the top of the stairs was very wobbly. A hand towel & soap specifically for the toilette would be a bonus as would more than one dishwasher tablet. We used the only one but when leaving could only rinse our dishes and stack in the dishwasher. Drying by hand was not an option as the only tea towel was dirty.

Great value for money, had access to the pool and garden and really safe parking. Lovely beds and everything was really clean and the host met us at the gate which was lovely and showed us around.

Just a few tiny things, such as no obvious rules for emptying the bins (did we need to do that or take the rubbish with us for instance), and I wasn't sure which cloth to use to dry up the dishes with. Perhaps a little map of the area for those new to the village with food shops and recycling points. plus a shower curtain would have been handy. But these are very small points and just me being fussy!!!
