A timelessly elegant house with spectacular sea views, serene woodland walks to the loch and seashore, and a fun-filled games room outside. It offers characterful accommodation for 8 guests with plentiful entertaining space, a woodburning stove and 4 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms. With no immediate neighbours, your space is your own.

Downstairs you’ll find a warm and inviting farmhouse family kitchen, complete with AGA, with seating and equipment for 14 guests to dine together. There’s a comfortable sitting room with woodburning stove and seating for 14. The snug is a separate space for games/creative pursuits/work or just peace with a table and chairs for 4, desk, comfy seating and smart TV. There’s a useful utility room for coats, boots, washing appliances, and a downstairs WC.
The house has ample parking and a large garden with a sun trap terrace, sturdy furniture and barbecue, lawns, hedges, woodland and wonderful views across the Solway Firth to the Cumberland Hills. Your own private games room with pool table adjacent to the house, just across the gravel parking area. Share your environment with the red squirrels that live in the woodland round the house.
Upstairs there are four bedrooms – two twins and two king-bedded rooms. Three have ensuite shower rooms; the fourth has its bathroom adjacent with both shower and bath. Inter-lined curtains and luxurious bedding ensure a good night’s sleep.
Extensive parking at the cottage with a dedicated EV charger with no additional charges.
Bed linen and towels, electricity, heating oil and logs for the woodburning stove are all included.

A wonderful location for peace and tranquility in beautiful, well-tended surroundings. The house is so well designed for comfort and easy living. Also, very practical for children and dogs! Melinda made us feel welcome from her first email. The views across the Solway Firth are stunning from the house and the shore. A memorable stay.

An absolute delight to stay here, the wildlife is wonderful: red squirrels, guinea fowl, bats, house martins..... and wonderful views. We enjoyed the loch, the wildflower meadow and the sculptures.The cottage itself has everything you might need, including the games room where we enjoyed several games of pool. It has comfortable beds and is very clean. We did struggle a bit with the Aga because we were not used to it, but cooked successfully though a little slower than usual! We have made some happy memories here.

Auchengashell is a lovely house. Perfect to relax with friends or family. Extremely comfortable and vey well equipped. You definitely feel away from it all, yet there is so much to see and do in this relatively unexplored part of Scotland. Melinda the host, couldn't have been nicer. All in all, a real treat!

Absolutely beautiful cottage in a fantastic location. Great facilities and lovely rooms. We would definitely return when visiting the area again.
