About this cabin rental

The "Kick Back Tiny Shack" has a queen size bed, small futon bed (for a child) along with 2 single camp cots. This tiny house can sleep up to four people (2-3 most comfortably) depending on your needs. There is a mini fridge with mini freezer along with a mini gas range/oven, microwave, coffee pot and toaster. There is a TV with only local channels available. Wi-Fi is available at nearby restaurants. AT&T works well here, all others are very scetchy. The cabin has a freestanding gas fireplace to keep you cozy and warm. Come prepared to relax. This is a rustic cabin with all amenities so no need to pack up dishes, bedding, towels, etc. (bring sleeping bag and pillow for anything other than the queen size bed.) The kitchen is fully stocked with your basic cooking and dining essentials. If you don't want to do dishes you are welcome to bring your own paper plates, etc. Coffee, coffee filters, Salt, pepper, dish soap and hand soap, toilet paper and one roll of paper towels provided. There is no running water, but you will be supplied with electric pump faucet with 10 gallons of water for the kitchen sink for doing dishes, etc. There is also a electric pump faucet for the outhouse sink. You can heat water on the stove with the pot supplied for dishes. In addition, drinking water will be supplied also. There is a heated outhouse next to the cabin which has a shower stall and an on-demand water heater and 120 gallons of water in which you can shower. Towels will be available and if you need more water, you can contact us, and we can refill at our home which is located next door. The contact information will be provided with your booking confirmation. Please allow notice in case we are not home at the time. You have your own private yard on our 6 acres with a BBQ pit (summer months), firepit and charcoal grill off of the back deck. If you chose to bring a four-wheeler, canoe, boat or snowmobile there is plenty of parking space depending on the quantity. There are also snowmobile and side by side rentals available three miles up the road. Come and disconnect and unwind or explore the many wonders that the Northwoods has to offer!

Although we are animal lovers, no pets are allowed.

No smoking is allowed in the cabin. Ashtrays will be available to you if you would like to smoke outside. Please do not leave cigarette butts anywhere but in the ashtrays or firepit. When using firepit be aware of wind and do not have campfire in extremely windy days/nights. Extinguish fire when not attended. Buckets of water will be available during dry times of the year. Please note that at certain times burning bans may be in effect. Bring bug spray in the spring/summer!

Be aware that this is bear country and store your food inside.

The interior of the cabin is newly refinished. The exterior will be improved as time goes by. Since the cabin and outhouse were moved to their private spot recently, there is not much grass yet.

This is a private wooded lot. Lakes, rivers and trails are nearby. For those looking for a quiet place, it is mainly a quiet area to listen to the sounds of nature. The cabin is set back but it is located on a main road in which people do travel. You may rarely hear gunshots at times as neighbors may be hunting on their land, etc. Please be considerate to our neighbors. Quiet time is between 10pm to 8am.

The Kick Back Tiny Shack is located about 25 miles north of The City of Duluth, about 30 miles from the Miller Hill Mall Area, 25 miles northwest of Two Harbors, 80 miles south of Ely. There are plenty of outdoor activities surrounding us including: Canoeing, Kayaking, fishing, swimming, rock picking, fall colors, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, four wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting, stargazing and Northern Lights. Hunting is not allowed at your site. Please check local plat maps for public hunting land nearby. We are located approximately 3 miles away from snowmobile trails. AT&T works well in the area. Property is just as described. We enjoyed the peaceful backyard. The cabin was very clean with a rustic feeling that we enjoyed. No cell service for Verizon made it a true getaway!!

Blissful!! My partner and I stayed for a weekend to see the fall colors, and although it was dreary and rainy, it was absolutely beautiful and incredibly cozy! Had everything we could need, and it was super nice to be able to unplug and truly get away, with other luxuries readily available. Couldn’t have asked for a better place, and we will definitely be back!

This cozy cabin was very nice inside. It was much closer to the road than expected and the little bit of traffic noise was easily heard. Yes, it had an outhouse that was decorated nicely but smelled terrible. A little charcoal for odor absorption would have been nice for this long drop loo. Also, the shower device was not very helpful in taking our bucket shower and this was done in the stinky potty. So, not sure if I smelled clean or like poo after. The mattress was very firm and a bit too firm for my liking. The owner was very quick to respond to all my messages and the cabin itself was quick comfortable but the bathroom and shower situation made me feel like it was quite overpriced due to road noise and smelly potty.
