Villa Jacaranda-Pool, Sea View & Mature Garden

Fabulous large Villa for family holiday. Great pool (warm in June) and deck area with plenty of seating, dining and BBQ facilities. Nice garden area all well maintained by Jorge on his daily visits. We had a car (useful for shopping or getting to far reaches of Tavira Island and surrounding beaches) but it’s an easy 25 minute walk down to the river in central Tavira (have to cross one main road which can be busy at evening rush hour but just be patient and can cross safely) where there are plentiful restaurant and bar options. Uber works well so if you don’t want to walk back it’s about €4 to €5 for the ride. Family really enjoyed everything the Villa offered; it’s a great space and would certainly book again.

Downsides: No pool safe tableware all glass which is not good. Equally If you have small children there are no plastic cups plates bowls or cutlery. Our daughter had to bring everything with her. A cot is available but again had to bring mattress and cot linen. This is a shame as the pool is child friendly (very shallow steps in at one end) there are toys in the tv lounge so would have expected some child friendly cups and bowls. Aside from this, the few early niggles that we experienced (broken air con etc) were attended to very efficiently by Smartavillas and Jorge the Villa maintenance man who was extremely helpful. However we have detailed of all the issues we experienced to Smartavillas so that hopefully they will address these with the owners and as part of their management responsibilities for future guests.

The location was good, a nice walk into town or an east taxi ride in.

2 small bottles of water and wine as a welcome for potentially 10 guests? Absolutely no welcome pack in terms of cooking .. no salt, pepper and the few dishwasher tablets appear to have been on a plate in the kitchen for some time!

Lovely Villa in a residential area on the edge of Tavira - well equipped, fabulous pool area and easy 20 min walk into town. As has been pointed out, you have to cross a main road - fine with adults. George came in most days to attend to pool and garden - top bloke!

We didn't dislike anything - minor quibbles inc. the kitchen being a bit cosy for a party of 9 and the noisy building works going on next door...
