Welcome to our charming 3-bedroom summer cottage nestled on the serene shores of Owasco Lake, boasting 100 feet of private lakefront. Recently listed as of May 2024, this historic 1000 sqft cottage has undergone a thoughtful renovation, blending modern comforts with classic charm.
Situated across two floors, the cottage features a spacious living room with soaring 18-foot ceilings and a door leading to a covered porch overlooking picturesque Owasco Lake. The porch is equipped with a ceiling fan, a dining table seating six, and a cozy seating area for 6-8 guests. Step outside to find a new Weber gas grill and four deck chairs.
A highlight of the property is the expansive 750 sqft patio just steps away from the water's edge. Here, you'll discover six deck chairs, a table with seating for four, and a fire pit surrounded by additional seating and a Solo Stove for memorable evenings by the lake. A short walk down nine stone steps leads to your private dock extending over 100 feet into the lake, perfect for docking your boat or jet ski, or simply relaxing by the water. Guests can also enjoy complimentary use of kayaks and paddleboards to explore the tranquil lake waters.
Located on the east side of Owasco Lake, known for its clear waters and stunning sunsets, the cottage offers easy access to local attractions. Just 35 minutes from Syracuse, 7 minutes from Auburn's town center, and 15 minutes from Skaneateles, guests can explore Finger Lakes wineries, hike the trails of Fillmore Glen Park, browse shops and eateries in Skaneateles village, or catch a Broadway-style show at the Merry Go Round Theater in Emerson Park.
Set on a spacious 3/4 acre lot with ample room for outdoor games, the cottage features a large front and backyard, along with a generous driveway for parking cars and trailers. For added peace of mind, a single camera monitors the driveway area.
Inside, the cottage comfortably accommodates up to six guests with beds arranged in three bedrooms: One with a king bed, another with 2 twin beds, and a third with a full bed. The king bedroom is equipped with heat and air conditioning, and a closet. The double bedroom has heat and ac, a dresser, but no closet. The twin bedroom has a dresser, but no heat, ac, or closet. Keeping the door open to this room along with a fan helps to keep it comfortable. The main living room is furnished with a sofa, chairs, and includes amenities such as a 65" TV, a 5-disc CD/DVD changer with Bluetooth connectivity, and a speaker selector for indoor and outdoor sound.
The fully stocked kitchen provides all necessary appliances, utensils, and ample storage, making meal preparation a breeze. A keurig machine is provided for morning coffee.

Have spent many falls in the Figer Lakes area, but first time on Owasco. Have always had a great experience with VRBO rentals and this was no exception. Great property and location. John was a great owner/host, checking in with us shortly after we arrived. He answered the few questions I had immediately and was always available. Check-in was a breeze. The property itself is exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Quiet, and directly on the lake. The backyard, with full lawn down to the lake, was fantastic. A huge paver patio at waters edge with firepit, dining table and Adirondack chairs is the showpiece of the yard. Enjoyed coffee every morning down by the lake or out on the covered porch (another favorite of mine). An added plus if you are travelling with dogs (we had a 5-yr old German Shepherd with us) is that the back yard is almost completely fenced with a small open area on the front driveway side. The house was super clean and had everything we needed for cooking dinners and just plain relaxing. The house is equipped with 4 heating/cooling units that worked really well and only needed to use two for heating in late October (nights were in the 40s). We love the Finger Lakes in the fall so a little cold to enjoy lake activities, but a great central location for our daily local hikes and visiting family in Rochester. Highly recommend.

Great family Fall trip at the lake. Very nice cottage & location with nice private back yard. The view of the lake from the fire pit & dock was excellent.

This is our second trip to this property and we love it! The home is comfortable and homey, but the outdoor space is what keeps us coming back. The dock is a wonderful place to start and end your day with comfortable chairs, umbrellas and beautiful view of the lake. We especially enjoy exploring the lake with the kayaks and paddle boards that are provided.
