Nestled along the picturesque shores of Lake Michigan, our charming vacation home, the Huckleberry Hideaway, offers a haven of relaxation and recreation. Embraced by the tranquility of nature, our property boasts not only a cozy main house but also a separate, more rustic bunkhouse and a gathering room. This retreat caters to all ages.
Step into the main house, where modern comforts harmonize with charming rustic touches, creating an inviting atmosphere for relaxation and gathering. The main floor has had a remodel and new amenities have been added. It features 2 bedrooms ( sleeps 6) and 1 full bath.
Adjacent to the main house, our quaint bunkhouse offers a simpler, more primitive escape into nature's embrace. Ideal for those seeking a closer connection to the outdoors, it provides a unique and intimate retreat space amidst the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. It features 1 bedroom, ½ bath, and a screened-in porch where you can enjoy your morning coffee while enjoying the sights and sounds of the nature that surrounds it.
The separate gathering room, where fun and enjoyment await is equipped with a game table, plenty of seating for the entire group, a large TV where you can connect to any of your streaming apps, and additional movies for your convenience. It's the ultimate spot for friendly competition and leisurely fun. Alternatively, guests can opt to unwind with a selection of board games or challenge themselves with a puzzle, providing the perfect opportunity to unplug from the daily hustle and reconnect with loved ones. It features a kitchenette, a sleeping area, and a full bath. There are 21 stairs from the parking area to the gathering room and then an additional 25 stairs up to the main house.
Let's not forget the main attraction – the breathtaking beachfront just steps away. Spend your days basking in the sun, swimming in the crystal-clear waters, or strolling along the sandy shores while simply taking in the breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding landscape. Huckleberry Hideaway is located in a secluded area of tranquil Montague. A 15-minute drive to the charming towns of Montague and its sister city, just across the bridge, Whitehall. There are many attractions such as shops, restaurants, breweries, and a farmer's market, just to name a few. There are too many attractions nearby to mention. A Welcome Binder is in the home with ample suggestions of places to visit. We also send it electronically before your arrival to give you ample time to plan ahead. – truly something for everyone!

While the weather did not want to cooperate, we had a lovely stay at this property. Communication with the owner was excellent. The main house is cozy and we enjoyed the added pool room. Bathrooms are tight but everything you need is available. Being right on the lake is 10/10.

Beautiful views of lake Michigan and a cozy cabin vibe inside. Everything we needed to have fun family memories. The bunk house was fun, my son loved the game room, and the access to the water was fantastic. Peaceful, fun, and relaxing. Would love to stay again.

We love to vacation as a family and to be able to include our water loving dog on this one was extra special. A unique cottage with history and nearby towns with so much going on. We shared dinner and sunsets with family and friends. Took morning and evening walks and met very nice neighbors. The humming birds around the upper deck and the nearby eagle with his morning catch was a real treat. The beach and sparkling water provided group relaxation and many great naps and beach play. We played table pool, biked and even scheduled a local fishing charter which resulted in a cooler full of salmon to bring back to the city. Thank you for sharing your cottage and providing us with so many extras that made our stay relaxing, fun and easy.

Perfect cottage life on the lake with a great beach and everything you could need or want (even some things you didn’t know you needed…I forgot my toothbrush and they had a neat little box for items that you may have forgotten, so I was covered!). Great property management and property was exactly as stated
Off the beaten path and a lot of stairs (maybe not for the faint of heart when it comes to lugging your things up), but it was just what the family needed! If we stay at Lake Michigan again, we’ll for sure see if this is available!
